You learn something new every day.

People say that all the time, and some days it's true. Yesterday just happened to be one of those days for the hubby and I. Unfortunately, it was a nerve-wrecking experience.

Yesterday was Friday, which is my normal weekly errand day. I always go to the bank, buy groceries, do errands that I've saved for the end of the week, etc. Well, Tim and I bought groceries early yesterday morning--right after we dropped the big girls off at school--and then headed to the bank to make a deposit. I always do this at the drive-up ATM because it's faster.

Wellllll, I made the deposit and Tim & I were chit-chatting. I grabbed the receipt from the machine and we continued on our way. We got all the way back to our town and was going to buy breakfast before heading home. That's when I realized that I didn't have my bank card. ACK!!!

We immediately turned around and headed back to the next town over and straight to the bank. I was in a panic all the way back over there because the only place I could have left it was IN the ATM! Add to that the enormous downpour of rain all during the entire drive back to the bank. I was frantic.

We went inside the bank and I spotted a girl that I went to school with. I've chatted with her at the bank several times over the years so she was welcoming. I told her what had happened and how I felt like a dumbass. LOL! She told me not to worry about it because she hears the exact same thing like 10 times a day! OMG!

Turns out that after about 30 seconds the ATM will actually suck the card in and destroy it. Wow, I never knew that! So she issued me a temporary card, cancelled the lost one, and I'll be receiving another card in the mail in 7-10 days. Whew!

Both she and I even checked the account to make sure all was still well. Everything was fine and I felt extremely lucky.

Tim soothed my ego a lot yesterday. "It could have happened to anyone." "We were talking and you were distracted." "It's okay. Nothing happened that wasn't fixed." Gosh, I love that man. He definitely knows how to make me feel better. LOL!

All's well that ends well, I suppose.

We went on to have a fairly uneventful day after that. We went out fr a quiet lunch together, did some shopping, and then picked the girls up early from school and went home. The girls went on to spend the night with the in-laws, while Tim and I enjoyed a peaceful night at home alone. Whew!

Today has been an easy day. We've been home playing Fable II together. We bought it yesterday and are having fun with it. Of course Tim has played more than I have since I'm the mom and still have a lot to do around here.... even on the weekend. LOL!

Now I'm off to finish our homemade pizza for dinner and start preparing the 4yr old for bedtime in a couple of hours. We'll see how tomorrow turns out...

Thirsty Thursday...

It's finally Thursday again. I didn't think you'd ever arrive, my lovely Thursday. This week has been a slow one. But here we are, Tim's last day of work this week and the weekend right around the corner. Woohoo!

Today I'm going to do a list of my favorite liquids to satisfy my thirst.

  1. Water. It's my #1 when I'm thirsty. I drink it all day long.
  2. Diet Mt. Dew. Love this stuff an it's the only "diet" drink that I can tolerate the taste of. It really tastes like regular Mt Dew to me.
  3. Orange Juice. Healthy, yummy, and mixes beautifully with vodka! ;-)
  4. Lemonade. This is my favorite drink in the summertime. I especially like the Mike's Hard version. LOL!
  5. Sweet Tea. What decent Southern girl doesn't like sweet tea?
  6. Suntan Lotion. Noooo, not real suntan lotion. LOL! This drink is a nice, smooth combination of pineapple juice and coconut rum. Yummmm!
  7. Crystal Light. This is pretty good when you want a touch of flavor, but not the calories. I like the smal packets that you just pour into a bottle of water. The lemonade version is my favorite.
  8. Coke. I only drink this when I need a high dose of caffeine to ward off a headache or low energy. I don't drink a lot of caffeine anymore, so one can of Coke will usually suffice.
  9. Strawberry Daquari! There's really no need for explaination on this one. It's just really good. LOL!
  10. Pina Colada. Same reason as above. :-)

Well, that's all for this morning. I need to get to work on Time For Death. I only have one more chapter to write and this first draft will be finished. I knew I'd be done this week, and I will! Woohoo! I need to finish it today before Tim is home for the next three days. He distracts me so easily, and I love it. LOL!

I'm off to shower and prepare for the day ahead. Then I'll finish the ending of my story so that I can enjoy the weekend in peace before starting edits and rewrites next week.

Have a great day!

Wanna Know Wednesday #3...

Yep, it's Wednesday yet again. It's the middle of the week with one more day of Tim's work week to go. I've been busy this week pulling together the ending of Time For Death. It's going well and I'm neary finished. YAY! I'm still confident that I'll be finished this week, just like I said I would be. :-)

Okay, so now I'll head right into this week's Wanna Know Wednesday. Here are ten more random facts about yours truely that you may, or may not, have wanted to know. :-)

  1. I love a good handbag and have several stored away in my closet. I change handbags on a fairly regular basis.
  2. I love watching LOST, but hate discussing and dissecting each episode. I try to stay away from the message boards on Thursdays because of all the analyzing of the show. I just wanna watch it and be done.
  3. I love fresh fruits and vegetables, but I hate growing my own. Though I do plant a garden every year.
  4. In five years my oldest daughter will be the same age I was when I married her father. Ack!!
  5. In 43 days I'll celebrate my 15th wedding anniversary. Another chance to go away for the weekend! Yay!
  6. I'm already on my 5th serving of water for the day. I usually aim for ten servings a day.
  7. I have about a dozen pieces of lingerie in my dresser drawer. That doesn't include stockings or accessories.
  8. I hate the look of glasses on myself, though Tim says he thinks I look hot in them. LOL!
  9. I've worn contacts since the age of 16.
  10. I'm planning to have a very productive writing day and better get started right now. :-)

Have a great day everyone!

Before I forget, this is entry #301 on my blog!! As always, I missed the 300 entry mark yesterday. LOL!

Tuesday... Yawn!

Gosh, I'm so tired this morning. I just popped open a can Coke because I'm really in need of some sort of boost... and the caffeine will have to do, I suppose. And I don't like coffee. I like the smell, but can't stand the taste. So Coke it is!

It's not like I was up late last night either. I guess it was about 10:30pm when Tim and I finally settled down for sleep. During the summer, I'm regularly up until 1-2am in the morning each night, and not feeling so drug down. I'll just blame it on winter. I am sooooo sick of it! At least it's suppose to be in the 50's here today.

Tim had to go into work early this morning, but he'll be getting off work early as well. I'm looking forward to having him home before dark for a change. Plus, it'll give me a little more writing time since he'll be home and can deal with the girls while I'm working. Yay! Then again, I may find better uses of his time once he does make it home. We'll see...

Ah, it appears that my business email is now back in working order. I awoke this morning to several days of emails piled up in my inbox. Thank goodness! Therefore, christie@christiesilvers.com is now back in working order. Woohoo!

Okay, I've wasted an hour of my writing time by just goofing off and trying to feel more awake. The laundry is done, the kitchen is clean, the trash has been emptied, and I need to get to writing. Liz has a man in the hospital, vampire to kill, and not a lot of time to tell me about it. Check back tomorrow for this week's Wanna Know Wednesday!

It's a new week, yet again.

Time for work again. Time to enjoy a brand new week full of the unexpected. You never know what each new day will present you with.

I'm working on the last chapters in Time For Death this week. I will be finished with the first draft by the end of the week. And yes, once I say I'll do something then you know damn well that it'll get done. Many of you know that from firsthand experience. LOL!

I just finished up today's chapter and still have an hour of writing time left before the youngest starts yelling for some mommy attention. So I thought I'd take a moment to pop in over here before I go build a block castle with her. :-)

I'm definitely ready to be finished with Time For Death. The second book in this series is already calling for my attention. Though I am attempting to kindly remind it to remember its place in the order of how things are done in my house. LOL! The poor dear is still being persistant though. Soon, my little story, soon!

Yes, Time For Death does have a sequel in the making already. It doesn't have a name yet, as I try not to title works that I'm not actively working on just yet, but I'm sure it will in the coming months.

THEN, then, yes, then... last night another book idea hit me and wouldn't let me fall asleep until I made notes about it in my notebook of ideas. Sheesh! They're always pestering me, but I do love them all. I fell asleep telling my mind to dream of Liz and NOT the new idea. Liz needs Time For Death completed so that she can continue her journey in the next one.

However, I didn't dream of Liz. Though I didn't dream about the new idea either. LOL!

Okay, time for castle-building. Have a great Monday!

Oh,wait! Before I go, my business email seems to be having problems with not getting emails through to me. I've noticed the problem over the last few days, so I have a support ticket into my service and will hopefully have it fixed soon. Until then, if you've emailed me in the last few days and haven't received a reply, feel free to resend to my Gmail account at christiedsilvers@gmail.com . :-)

Not everything goes as planned.

Yes, I'm home today. Normally I'd be at the in-laws' house right now. However, the oldest woke up vomiting this morning. Soooo, no visit this weekend.

I spent the morning cleaning the 4yr old's bedroom. I washed the sheets from my bed, and then started the regular laundry afterwards. I've emptied the dishwasher twice today, as well. Oh, and I finally got around to painting that spot in the diningroom from Tim cutting a hole in the wall three weekends ago. LOL!

Tim went out and changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter in my van this morning. Now he's playing Nascar '09 on his Xbox.

Soooo, I'm home today, but that's okay because even my horoscope said I should probably stay home today. LOL! Now if I could just figure out what I'm making for dinner tonight I'd be a happy camper.

Tomorrow starts a brand new week, full of the unknown. I'll be happy to send the girls back to school and get back to my regular routine. Though I have to admit that they did well, and didn't make me want to pull all my hair out. :-)

Back to laundry I go now. Two more loads to put away and it'll be finished. Then I can get to book work. I'm planning to finish the last chapter on Time For Death in the coming week... then it'll be editing and rewriting time. LOL! It never ends, that's for sure. :-) But I love it!

Have a great Sunday and a productive week ahead.

Happy weekend everyone!

Good evening all. Have you had a good weekend thus far? Do anything special, or just hang out at home? We've had a pretty peaceful Saturday, after a busy and fun Friday. :-)

I just realize that I never got around to sharing the pics from my weekend away with Tim two weekends ago. I just finished uploading and resizing them, so I'll go ahead and post them now while it's fresh in my mind.

We stayed at the Edelweiss German Inn in Helen, Georgia. It was gorgeous, though I imagine it's even better in Spring when everything is green and blooming. We'll definitely have to go back one day.

This is the upstairs sitting room that was right outside our room. The wall of windows led out onto a wooden deck overlooking the patio sitting area.

More of the sitting area. There were all kinds of games, books, and things to keep you occupied (if you need that kind of entertainment on a weekend away, lol). There was even a computer and internet connection... though I never touched it. Shocking, I know. ;-)

Our room!

We had a gorgeous room that was full of reds and dark wood tones. The king sized bed was massive. It was so high that I had to literally jump up into the bed. Tim was laughing at me. Overlook my purse and our bag that were discarded on the bed as soon as we walked into the room.

The Jacuzzi tub was nice. Too bad they were having hot water problems that night and we didn't get to play in the tub for too long.

View from the other side of the room. The bed was a four poster bed with wrought iron canopy across the top, connecting all four posts. It was so high that there was no more than 1 inch between the canopy and the ceiling.

There were a lot more pics, but they weren't family-friendly. LOL! We had good time up there. It was a nice way to get awy for the weekend without being too far from home. The staff was friendly, the inn was beautiful, the food at the resturant downstairs was delectable.

Okay, now that I've shared those I'll recap yesterday and today for anyone bored enough to read about it. LOL!

Today was a normal Saturday. Tim & I woke up in a quiet house. We took some cans to the recycling center and made a few dollars for Tim to stash in his wallet for work next week. We picked up the girls from my mom's (they spent the night with her last night). Then we picked up a new running line for our mutt dog since she broke her line this morning. The it was right back home for us. Nothing exciting... though the girls were outside for a while (*wink, wink*) and Tim grilled out for us at dinnertime. :-)

Now yesterday was fun. We did the normal Friday stuff--grocery shopping, trip to bank, etc.-- and we took the girls out for breakfast (it was actually more like brunch since we got to sleep in). After all that, we came home for a few hours until my mom came to get the girls.

As soon as the girls were out the door Tim & I dashed off to my sister's house. THEN, we went to a new "grown-ups" shop. We've been to a few different ones over the years, but we'd never been to this particular one. It's always interesting to see how classy (or not) adult stores can be when trying to display the same "merchandise". LOL! This one was pretty classy, thank goodness! *giggle*

We came home with $70 in new goodies and lingerie to enjoy. Not bad since we spent like $85 two weeks ago at a different shop. LOL!!

After that we picked up a quick dinner and headed home to an empty, QUIET house. It's always nice to enjoy the sound of silence together.

That's it for our weekend. Tomorrow we'll visit the in-laws for a few hours and then head back home so Tim can change the oil in my van and watch the Nascar race. Oh, I cut my hair Thursday night too. Funny how I can do in 10 minutes, for free, what the hair salon does in 45mins and $40.

Until next time, I hope you've had a good one!!

Gosh, it's been a crazy week.

This has been one interesting week, if I do say so myself.

My blog stalker hasn't had the nerve to contact me, though I've had other people email me who thought they were the stalker I was referring to. LOL! Very interesting indeed! The hubby and I got a kick out of that one. I'm not worried about it though. When you have a prominent internet presence stalkers are to be expected. This isn't my first and I'm sure they won't be the last. They are however the first one from my past.

The kids were home all week for "Mid-Winter Break". Luckily, they haven't been as rowdy as they usually are when they have a week at home together. They've been very good girls this week. Of course now that I've said that the weekend will go to hell in a handbasket. LOL!

This was the week for my book royalties to be paid. When my payment arrived, I happily discovered that even with the slow economy, my books sales are rising substantially. Thank you to all who have spent their hard-earned dollars on my works. My daughter's orthodontist also thanks you! LOL!

Today marked #5,000 in pageviews on my beloved blog here. That was very cool to see. Usually I miss things like that... especially when it comes to the odometer in my van rolling over. LOL!

I've spent the morning cleaning house, spending time with the kids, I watched a movie with my oldest, texted with the hubby, and then made a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup that the kids will eat off of for days. It's been a productive day family-wise. Tim wants me to pick up some BBQ for dinner this evening, so I'll go out for that right before he gets home. Then, he's home for three days! Yay!

I'm pretty sure that my mom is taking the girls Friday night, so maybe Tim and I will go out for some fun. Then again, we may just stay home and enjoy the quiet. Who knows?

Okay, I'm out for today. Tomorrow is my busy errand day, so I doubt I'll be posting then. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

.

Thank You Thursday

Last week's Thursday entry was my "To Hell With..." post. This week I'm going in another direction with my "Thank You" entry. Today's list is a compilation of things I'd like to thank the universe for. :-)

  1. Thank you for my wonderful husband.
  2. Thank you for my beautiful daughters (even though it took so long to conceive #1 & #3).
  3. Thank you for fat free fudgsicles. Mmmm...
  4. Thank you for the support of friends and family.
  5. Thank you for sunny, warm, Spring days. I'd like to enjoy some very soon, please.
  6. Thank you for sex! Without it I'd be bored, and have nothing to write about.
  7. Thank you for my wonderful characters who won't stop pestering me until I get their stories on paper as quickly as life will allow me to.
  8. Thank you for love. It's such a key component in living life to the fullest. If you aren't loved, and loving someone else, then you can't truly know what life is all about.
  9. Thank you for unlimited text messaging. LOL! It gives Tim & I the opportunity to talk all throughout the day.
  10. Finally, thank you for gracing me with a life that I love, people that I cherish and cherish me, and enough sense to realize just how happy I really am. :-)

What are you thankful for this week?

I love writing!

I truly love being a writer. I find so much joy in the written word--mine and those from other authors. I've always been a lover of words. I was an avid reader at a very early age, and still to this day have teachers from my childhood who remember me as the one who always had a book in her hands. LOL!

A good story is better than a t.v. show any day of the week. I'd rather be reading a book than watching television anytime. Better than that, I'd rather be writing my own books!!

I love how the words can flow across the computer screen while my fingers fly across the keyboard as if with a mind of their own. Once they stop stabbing the keys I'm always amazed that the numerous words, sentences, paragraphs, chapters on the screen came from me, and me alone. This is why I always say that it's just me, my music, and the voices in my head!

When I'm writing, all I hear are the voices of my characters and whatever music I have blaring straight into my brain. I write best when I have music that matches the pace of the story's current scene. If it's a fight scene, or something very intense, I need metal... a loud, growling, powerful song that will help convey the thoughts and feelings that my characters are dealing with. If it's a sweet, heartfelt, love scene then I prefer something softer to match. For sex scenes it can go either way... depending upon who is having the sex and under what circumstances. LOL!

The mind of a writer is an interesting place that is never vacant. There are always people, places, scenes, events rolling around in there, just waiting for their right moment to enter the reality of the world around us. Only another writer would believe how many stories I have sitting here in my notebook, waiting for their turn to occupy my attention.

I have story ideas coming to me at all hours of the day and night. Scenes finish themselves out in my dreams. Declarations of love hit me in the shower. I never know when something will pop up.

So yes, I love writing, reading, books, words, and other writers who will always be the only people in the world to understand what the hell I'm rambling on about. LOL!!

Have a great night. :-)

.

Wanna Know Wednesday #2

Welcome to the second installment of finding out things that you may, or may not, have wanted to know about me. LOL!

1. My hair is not naturally red. I was born blonde, which later morphed into an ugly brown that I hated. I colored it back to blonde for many years before getting the nerve up to go red. I love the red!

2. I have blue eyes, and love them! All three of the girls got my blue eyes, though the oldest dd's will change shades like their dad's eyes do.

3. My hair is naturally curly. I use to hate it as a teen, but as I got older I started to appreciate my curls a lot more.

4. I wear a size 10 in shoes... which is the same size shoe as Tim, though in men's. LOL!

5. I had braces as a teen. I was still wearing braces when I married at the age of 17.

6. I have a younger brother and sister.

7. My dad passed away back in 2003 and I still miss him terribly sometimes.

8. I never thought I'd be a writer when I grew up. I'd always planned to be a lawyer. Then I met Tim and that was long gone forever. LOL!

9. I have friends all over the world.

10. I've always been an optimistic person. I like to see the good in life, no matter how life is going. Tim is more pessimistic, so we balance each other out perfectly.

That's it for today. I hope you're having a great week, and make sure that you enjoy this "Hump Day" to the fullest. ;-)

.

Tuesday, Tuesday. I don't mind Tuesdays.

Good morning all! I hope you're having a good one. So far, so good here on the homefront. The girls are being very good this morning (though as soon as I say that I'm sure it'll change). Tim has already texted me sweet nothings a few times this morning. And the house is fairly clean. LOL!

I woke up to temps in the 20's yet again. I sure was hoping for Spring to arrive soon, and after the nice temps we've been having, this morning was a disappointment. At least the sun is shining brightly though! I'm a stickler for sunshine. It makes me feel good, happy, productive. Winter sucks even worse when it's always cloudy and dreary.

I've already gotten several things on my 'to-do' list for this week knocked out. I need to start sanding and painting in the diningroom though. Tim had to cut into the wall the other weekend to fix a shower problem in the girls' bathroom. What a mess that was, but he got it taken care of fairly quickly. He got the hole all fixed and puttied up this weekend, so now I need to sand and paint it.

I try to never plan for too much when the kids are home from school. My plans never seem to come to fruition if I do. LOL! So I just kind of go with the flow and see what happens.

Oh, a little reminder that the February contest with CoffeeTimeRomance is still going on. If you haven't signed up yet for your chance to win a gift basket of goodies and a copy of one of my Alex & Fiona books, then pop on over and do so!
http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/ContestPage.html

Just scroll down to Christie Silvers and see what you can do! :-)

Okay, I'm out for now. I have work to do, a wall to paint, kids to send outside as soon as it's warm enough, and a hubby who keeps texting. LOL! Have a fabulous Tuesday!

You think you're hidden?

It amazes me the amount of people who think they are hidden behind their computer screen. That just because they may not have a webpage out there in the World Wide Web that no one will know it's them roaming around the net. Guess what? You aren't hidden! Far from it, as a matter of fact.

I currently have a blog stalker who really has no business stalking. That's okay though. This person isn't hurting a thing by simply reading my blog, or by visiting my husband's MySpace page. As long as it's only reading. However, if this person thinks I don't know they are here, well, I do.

I have a nice little stat counter on all of my sites that tells me how many visitors I have, where my visitors come from, and, well, many other little details. These things are nice to have, even if you never have a reason to use them other than as a pageview counter.

Ah yes, back to thinking you're hidden online....

Well, my blog stalker may think I don't know they're here, but I can tell you right now that I know every visit they've made. I know what time of day (I know you were here when I started writing this entry). I know which entries they've clicked on. I also know when they've clicked over to my husband's MySpace page. Oh, and there's a stat counter on his page, in case you just go straight there without hitting my blog first.

I know this person's internet provider. I know that they use IE 6. I know that they're computer runs WinXP. Oh, and I know that their computer monitor has a resolution of 800x600.

A simple Google search showed me this person's full name, age, mailing address, spouse's name and age, and even a phone number for the spouse.

You aren't hidden. Anyone out there can know these details about anyone else. It's common. Nearly all websites have a way to see what you're doing on their websites.

I don't generally track any of my visitors so thoroughly. It's only the ones that are annoying me or doing things they shouldn't be doing that will draw my attention enough to check out what's been going on.

Now, I've never tried to hide anything about myself. My life is an open book. I know what's out there on the net. Why try to hide when I know it's not possible? And I've always been open enough to set my email address out there for anyone and everyone to contact me anytime they feel the need to.

Feel free to keep reading Blog Stalker. But if you get to the point where you'd like to actually speak to me privately, just email me. christie@christiesilvers.com

Roses are red

Today was a normal Friday around here. Tim's off on Fridays so I got to wake up next to him, even though it was still to the sound of our hated alarm clock. Better than waking up alone because he's already left for work.

We took the big girls to school and then went off to buy groceries for next week. Tim bought me roses for Valentine's Day while we were out. He always buys me roses, and I love it. I had to run by the bank and then back home we came. We had breakfast and lunch together before I had to go pick the big girls up from school.

Tim played his Xbox and texted with me while I waited around at school for the kids. The youngest wanted to stay home with her daddy while I was at school, so he played with her too. She's definitely a daddy's girl. Of course, they're all daddy's girls, but the older two have more in their lives than daddy. LOL!

I brought the kids home and then sent all three outside to play since it's warm enough here in Georgia. Once the girls' fun started outside, Tim & I locked the bedroom door and had some fun inside. ;-)

We were hoping that the girls would be going to the in-laws' house tonight, but MIL is sick, so that's a no go. Oh well, we still manage to find moments alone. Then when bedtime comes it's game on! LOL!

I'm making homemade pizza for us tonight. Tim loves my pizza better than any restaurant... or though he says. LOL.

So see? Even I have some fairly normal days around here. You probably can't tell from all the craziness that usually ensues for me. We're always doing something, but on occasion we do get a peaceful day. Today was one of those easy days. Hopefully the next two days will be just as peaceful. We don't have any plans, nothing that NEEDS to be done right now, no appointments, nothing planned except spending time home.

I hope you all have a peaceful weekend. Enjoy Valentine's Day with the one you love!!

To Hell With... Thursday!

Good morning ladies and gents! How has your week been? Mine has been pretty good. What girl wouldn't be happy with new shoes, new dresses, and knowing that she's loved?

I know I've been pretty sappy lately, but I always get that way around Valentine's Day. Life is good, my kids are beautiful, my husband is the best, and every new year brings about better things than the one before. I'm definitely in a pretty euphoric mood lately.

However, with that said, today's theme is all about things that I just want to say To Hell With.

We all have them... things you can't stand or that annoy you to death. Here are a few of mine.

To Hell With...

1. That stupid "check engine" light that won't stop coming on.
2. Ex's that can't get the hint after 16 years.
3. How loud my freakin' dishwasher is.
4. The economy!
5. Stupid drivers who think they own the road.
6 How far the hubby has to drive for a decent job (I hate that he's an hour away).
7. Laundry!! It never ends, does it?
8. Never having enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.
9. WINTER! I'm so sick of cold weather. I'm ready for Spring!
10. Bills. Everyone hates them, so just to hell with them all. :-)

That's it for today. I'm off to do some actual work and text with the hubby. He's been texting me since 6:30 this morning... and he wasn't even at work yet. LOL! Think he misses me a little? ;-)

Wanna Know Wednesday...

I've decided to go with a theme on Wednesdays. Many people do Wordless Wednesdays, but I talk too much to just post a picture and nothing more. LOL! Soooo, I'm going to do a Wanna Know Wednesday.

If you want to know something about me just ask. But until then I'll just go through and post random facts that you may or may not wanna know about me. Basically me just rambling like I always do. LOL!

Since it's the week of Valentine's Day, today's theme will be 10 things about my relationship with the hubby. ;-)

1. We met in June 1993.
2. He proposed to me in his pickup truck under a star-filled sky.
3. We married a mere 10 months later in April 1994.
4. We were both 17 years old when we married (he turned 18 ten days later).
5. He is the love of my life & tells me daily that I am his.
6. He regrets the "relationships" he had before us. Though we agree that they led him to me.
7. We don't need a holiday to show one another how we feel.
8. I can't get enough of him. We're always touching each other, even after all these years.
9. We have similar taste in music now, even though we were opposites when we were dating.
10. We recently redecorated our bedroom in reds and blacks (it's awesome!).

I could keep going on and on, but I'll stop at ten. Now, if anyone wants to know anything specific feel free to ask away. Or you can email me at christie@christiesilvers.com

Now, since I'm already jabbering on here...

They did in fact arrive yesterday! Yay!

They look soooo good! I sent Tim several picture texts while he was at work and he loved them. One message mentioned something to the point of wishing he was home so he could see them in person with nothing else on (only not phrased as kid-friendly as that). LMAO! He definitely had quite the manly reaction to my smokin' hot shoes.

Overlook the less than perfect photo quality as it was taken with my cell phone by my 8 yr old daughter. LOL!

Anyway, I love my new shoes and today am waiting on two Infinite dresses to arrive via the USPS. I got a red one and a black one the other week. I'll be stylin' for quite some time to come. I haven't bought new goodies like these in a very long time. It's fun!

Now if you want me to talk about the new nurses costume we picked up last week... Well....

Until next time my friends!

Unmoderated Comments

So it's been a week since I changed the comments over to moderated mode. There haven't been anymore anonymous comments left on the blog for me to bother with, so I figured I'll change it back to unmoderated again.

Thank you to my regular posters who tolerated the change. :-)

And as always, if anyone wants to speak with me off the blog I'm available at christie@christiesilvers.com

:-)

Tuesday, Tuesday... It's yet another Tuesday.

It's still very early here. I just woke the big girls up so they can get ready for school. The baby is still asleep in my bed and Tim left for work twenty minutes ago. It's very quiet at the moment.

Of course just because it's quiet doesn't mean that I can think straight. I'm sooooo not a morning person, and never have been. I hate the sound of an alarm clock. I despise waking up when it's still dark outside. I'm never in a good mood right out of bed. It takes me at least an hour to feel like a human being... just in time to take the girls to school.

I like the weekends. I like waking up naturally. I like not hearing that blasted alarm clock. I love waking up to Tim curled up beside me, all warm and soft. I love his raspy morning voice when he says, "Good morning, Love of My Life."

I don't hate weekdays. I just love weekends much better. LOL!

I guess it's time to go get dressed. I need to get these kids off to school in a little while and then get back home to do laundry and work on Time For Death for a little. Have a fabulous day!

Oh, my sexy, red shoes will be here today! Those will make my day great this afternoon. :-)

We had a great time...

Happy Monday everyone. I hope that you're having a good one.

I had quite the last four days. The hubby and I had a wonderful 4 day weekend together and the bed & breakfast was lovely and peaceful. It's crazy how quiet the day can be without three little girls screaming and hollering all the time. I'd forgotten how fun a grown-up conversation could be when you aren't being interrupted all the time. LOL!

We stayed at a nice bed & breakfast, had dinner in a super nice resturant, and even visited a winery. We discovered a new wine that we both liked and drank half the bottle in the room while trying out the jacuzzi tub. LOL! It was sooooo nice.

Oh, and thank you to everyone who did not call us. We appreciate it! :-) Neither of our phones rang once while we were gone and it was NICE.

So my honey and I had a great time spending four days together. Turns out we'll have four day weekends more often starting next month. His work is cutting from four 10 hour days down to three 10 hour days a week. Sucks that work is slow, but I won't mind the extra time together. The income loss will suck too, but we'll be fine.

That's it from me for today. In a little while I'll be cooking Tim's new favorite dinner (my yummy baked salmon with steamed green beans and homemade dinner rolls) while waiting on him to come. The girls are currently outside screaming like banshees. And I'm currently taking a break from a long day and listening to some music. Tim will be calling me soon so I can entertain him during his drive home from work. It's never a dull moment around the Silvers Household! LOL!

Have a great evening everyone!

Happy Hump Day!

Yay, it's Wednesday. The week is half over! I can't wait for the weekend to arrive so the hubby and I can head out of town.

Technically the man works four days a week (ten hours a day). However, he's decided to start our weekend early and is taking tomorrow off. We get a four day weekend! Yay!! If it's as cold tomorrow as it is today then we will just stay in bed under the warm blankets. Hell, we may do that anyway whether it's cold or not. LOL! Of course one of us will have to get up and take the big girls to school and feed the youngest breakfast. But those are just minor details. LOL!

On a different note...

I found out this morning that I placed #2 Best Author in the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll last month!! Woohoo!!!!! I placed 7th last year, so I'm extraordinarily thrilled about being 2nd this year. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I appreciated every single vote and how wonderfully generous all of my beloved readers are with taking time out of their days to vote.

Time For Death is finally coming to an end. Well, the end of the first draft anyway. LOL! I'll go through about three more drafts before I'm completely happy with it. I'm really liking how my Liz has turned out though. She's definitely a force to be reckoned with. I love it!

Now if the hubby will quit tempting me I'd get more work done at a much faster pace. LOL! But not until after our long weekend. ;-) I have plans for him!

Now, onto yet another completely different note....

Some of you may notice that I've placed the blog on moderated comments. No worries for those of you who are regular responders. I still love ya!

All this time I've resisted moderated comments, yet lately there have been some anonymous ones that the hubby & I don't appreciate (those of you who know me personally will know exactly what I'm talking about) and I really don't have the time to come back and delete them as quickly as I'd like to. Soooo, the blog is now on moderated for just that reason. That may change in the future, but for now that's just how it has to be.

Hmmm....

I think that's about it for today. This month's newsletter went out this morning. I hope those of you who are subscribed will enjoy it, and those of you who aren't, there's a link up top to sign up.

Oh, before I go, look at my new shoes...

Hot huh? They are $90 Nina Dilsey. A little higher heel than I'm use to (5 inches), but they were sooooo gorgeous that I couldn't pass up the deal I got on them. It'd be nice if they arrive before I leave this weekend, but I doubt that'll happen.

Okay, I'm out. I hear the hubby texting me. Have a fabulous Hump Day and a wonderful weekend to come. I know I will! ;-)

An exciting week ahead!

Usually I'm pretty blah on Mondays. Not this week! This is going to be one exciting week for me.

First off, let me say that my February contest on CoffeeTimeRomance.com has gone live. You can check it out and enter by visiting www.coffeetimeromance.com/ContestPage.html . Just scroll down to my name and get to it! :-) Good luck to all who enter.

While that's fun all on its own, that's not why I'm in such a good mood on a dreary Monday morning.

We all know that Valentine's Day is next weekend. A day for lovers! I love Valentine's Day. Tim always brings me roses and we spend the evening together (when it's on a week day). However this year it falls on a weekend. Yay!

Soooo, this coming weekend we're going away all alone. Yes, I know it's a week early, but we didn't want to go when everyone would be going. Places are always crowded for Valentine's Day so we're going now.

We are heading over to a little Bed & Breakfast right outside Helen, GA. It's far enough to be "away" and close enough that we won't have to spend all day traveling. I have my mother lined up to take the girls and we'll be off.

We've never been to a bed & breakfast (well, technically it'll be bed & brunch), so we're really looking forward to it. Tim doesn't think we'll leave the room the whole weekend. Thankfully they have a nice resturant right there. We'll make reservations for a late dinner and late brunch and then see what happens. I'm guessing he's right though, and there won't be many public sightings of the two of us over the weekend. LOL!

I guess those of you who've read my books can now tell where the steamy sex scenes come from. LOL! I've been known to say that some of my fiction is based on actual reality, yet I won't say exactly what. LOL!

So I'm in an excellent mood today and plan to be in one all week. Tim is already texting me from work this morning talking about the upcoming weekend.

To friends and family who may call or text me this coming weekend... Don't expect me to answer the phone. ;-)

Now I'm off to see if I can get any actual work done on Time For Death today. Liz has certainly taken a backseat to the hubby lately. Yet knowing Liz the way I do, she totally understands!

Have a great week everyone!
