I love writing. It entertains me, keeps me occupied, makes me think, teaches me about new things and yet I find it difficult to write when the girls are running around like wild animals. They distract me to the point that I don't even recognize what I had just written. I find it much easier to get any writing done while the toddler naps, and the big ones are outside playing, or once all three are in the bed at night. It's no wonder that I find myself tapping away on my laptop keyboard at midnight on some nights. Poor Tim likes for me to go to bed with him, but he has to trudge off to bed alone when I've had a busy day with the girls. A writer HAS to write, even if she can only do her writing late at night.
I have managed to get a decent amount of writing done on my new book today. Not as much as I would have liked to do, which may be remedied late tonight, but a decent amount. I suppose a chapter and a half is ok for a day with wild girls vying for my attention. LOL!

Publicity
I never imagined that publicity could be such a strange creature. Publicity on my book is quite interesting. There's the stuff that I put out and the word of mouth that others are offering up. It seems like the information I put out into the world about my book is nowhere near as good as the simple word of mouth from the people who have read the book. It's very strange.
As for my day, I've gotten one article completed, colored my hair (yes it's not blonde naturally), put two auctions up on Ebay (one has already sold, YAY) and decided what my second article's topic will be. Oh, and I received an offer (a very nice one) on one of my previously submitted articles.
Now I need to clean up the livingroom (before the hubby comes home), cook dinner, feed and bath three girls, empty the dishwasher, listen to the hubby complain about work and listen to him wish the weeks away until our vacation to Tybee Island, GA in July. After all of that I MIGHT find some time to complete my second article and to watch a little television.

Summer vacation.
Today is the first "official" day of summer vacation for my older girls. Tim had to go back to work today and I'm home alone with all three girls. I have done everything in my power to get my work done, but peace and quiet eludes me. That is to be expected with three girls in the house, though. I did manage to get two articles written and submitted, although my goal was to get three articles done today. That's alright, I'll just add that third one to my list for tomorrow. Of course, I do need to work on my next book also. It's sitting there all alone with only one paragraph written. The poor thing is screaming for my attention. Maybe later poor little book. I have children calling my name right now. Maybe later.

Happy Memorial Day!
It has been a fantastic weekend here. Tim got 4 days off of work for Memorial Day and we have all thoroughly enjoyed our time together. My van is definitely a LOT cleaner than it was on Thursday. We have kicked off our summer season with style this weekend. Here's hoping that the next 5wks go by quickly. Come on vacation time!!

Growing children.
Why do our children have to grow so darn quickly? Sure, we want them to grow into nice, little independent people, but why do they have to do it so quickly? It just ocurred to me that time moves far too quickly when my husband and I were pulling out the booster car seat for our toddler. She has outgrown her other carseat because she is so tall so we had to pull out the highback booster for her. She kept sitting in it saying, "Ooohhh it's nice!" like it was the best thing in the world to her. All we could do was giggle at her and agree wholeheartedly that it certain was very nice. The years fly by far to quickly.

A little about me.
Hi. I'm Christie. This is my first "official" blog, especially since my MySpace blog is just full of my ramblings about nothing. I am a wife of 13 years and a mother to three daughters, Cassandra, Sara & Kaitlyn. I enjoy reading books by MaryJanice Davidson, Charlaine Harris and Anne Rice (I prefer her vampire & witch books). In my free-time, which isn't a lot, I write. I write articles for Associated Content, I write down ideas and I recently finished writing (and published) my first book titled, Toddler Logic: 50 Things That Your Toddler Wants You to Know. Check it out!
I always have a new article, or two, being published on AC each week. Some weeks are better than others, but I'm always writing when I get the time to do so. Now that school is out for the summer, and all three children are home 24/7, I may find my article production slowing to a crawl. Hopefully that won't be the case though.
I welcome comments from my readers so feel free to post away. I'm also happy to reciprocate pageviews for the people who comment on my AC articles. :-)
