Good Tuesday morning, maybe?

*Yawn* I'm tired this morning. The weekend is finally catching up with me. Although that hasn't stopped me from being busy as soon as I got dressed this morning.

I've already taken the kids to school, fed the youngest, had some toast myself, washed one load of laundry, and even handwashed one of my lingerie outfits. And it's not even 8 am yet.

Yesterday was pretty productive as well. I ended up doing all the normal household chores, but also found the time to sew my youngest daughter a new skirt and myself a top. Then I made chicken and homemade buns for BBQ Chicken Sandwiches. It was yummy. I still need to work on skirts for the older girls, but they haven't decided on what colors they want yet, so they're on hold until then.

I haven't decided what all will happen today. Apparently Tim has an idea of what will happen tonight as he's already texting me naughty inuendos. LOL! It's never too early for that stuff, is it? LOL.

Today isn't as planned out as yesterday was. My "to-do" list has been knocked down several notches since I finished so much yesterday. Looks like today will be spent with my fingers glued to the keyboard of my laptop. I should be able to get a couple of articles done... as long as the youngest doesn't decide that it's a good day to pester mommy all day, and nothing out of the ordinary pops up.

Okay, I'm out for now. Off to get some work done and enjoy the constant texts from the man. He's apparently in a "mood" this morning. LOL!

Have a great day.

Monopoly for everyone!

Good morning everyone. It's Monday again. I hope that you spent your weekend the best possible way. No work, only play! :-)

I had a nice day yesterday. The rain subsided (even though it was still very overcast), and once all the sleepover guests went home, it was a very peaceful day. We visited with the in-laws for a while and then came home.

I got some work done, finally watched the Twilight movie that's been sitting here from Netflix for a week, or so, and then spent the rest of my day with the family. Then after the kids went to bed, Tim asked me to play a game of Monopoly with him. We hadn't played in a while, so we di last night. We played for two hours before I finally beat him. LOL! I owned half the board and he was broke. LOL!

As for today, well it's suppose to be partly cloud, but no rain. I can only hope that's true. The rain sucks! I'm planning to get some writing done and hoping to hear about a job position I applied for last week. No, I'm not leaving the home. It's an online writer's job that many people want, but only one will get. Fingers crossed! It's good money and not a lot of work.

Well, I better be off. I have to take the big girls to school in a few minutes, then come back home and get to work. Breakfast, workout, laundry, writing, childcare, etc. Always busy, busy.

Have a fantastic day!

Good Sunday morning, and it's done!

Good morning all. How was your Saturday night? I hope it was pleasant. Mine was filled with squealing, screaming, giggling girls.... and no, not just my own three. LOL!

The sleepover went well. They all had a good time and I was able to wrangle them all into their sleeping spots before midnight. Now I'm not promising that they actually went to sleep before midnight, but at least they were where they needed to be. LOL!

I'm currently waiting for the parents to arrive and take half of them away. Then we have to get ready for the weekly visit with the in-laws. The girls love visiting them every Sunday, though Tim and I could do without their smoking. Yuck!

Oh, I guess you're wondering about the "it's done" comment in the title of this entry. Well, after all these months, and me putting it off and pushing it to the side in favor of other projects......

THE CHARACTER DICTIONARY IS DONE!!! Yay!!

Yep, it's finally finished. I completed the entries for A Twilight Abduction late last night while I was waiting for all those 12yr old girls to go to bed. Woohoo!! Tim was smiling at me as I announced, "It's done!" with great delight.

Soooooo, go on over there and check it out. You might even find out something new about some of your favorite characters. :-)

ChristieSilvers.com Character Dictionary

Okay, that's it from me this morning. Have a great Sunday. Enjoy it to the fullest because tomorrow is Monday again. ;-)

It's Saturday already?

This week has gone by fairly quickly for me. I can't believe it's already Saturday. Of course, the days do roll into one another when it's rainy day, after rainy day, after rainy day. I'll be so glad when the sun decides to grace us with its presence again.

Today has been a lazy day around the house. Tim's watching his Iron Man dvd at the moment. Now that doesn't mean I have been able to be lazy. I've cleaned the kitchen, done three loads of laundry, swept and vacuumed the floors, and stripped down my giant bed to wash the sheets.

Plus I have homemade pizza crust rising in the kitchen right now for when the oldest daughter's friends arrive and they can make pizzas tonight. Tim and I will be having a Mexican dinner that we'll make ourselves. He's not in a pizza mood.

I also worked on the Character Dictionary for the website. It's almost complete! I'm working on the section for A Twilight Abduction at the moment. I never realized that I'd written so many more characters into that book than I did in the previous two. It is fun to go back and recap my previous characters. I like that it refreshes my memory of how much I loved them while I was writing them.

I currently have 12, yes TWELVE, book projects in the works. Most are in the form of a few paragraphs in my notebook so that when I get time to write them I'll know what my idea was and how passionate I felt about writing that story when I made the notes. Others are already started in their own computer files here on the laptop. Then, I have notes about linking one story with another in my cell phone. I use to carry around a digital voice recorder to make notes anytime, but found that it wasn't as conducive to how I work as a good notebook and ink pen.

With so much work ahead of me, it's no wonder that I go through phases of disinterest. I write, and write, and write until I just can't write anymore. Then I go into hiding for a couple of weeks before the urge to write strikes me hard and fast. Writing is definitely my passion, but sometimes passion takes a break as the world around us interrupts it.

This is how it is for me anyway. Every writer is unique and therefore has his/her own techniques and style for getting work completed.

Well, I better stop rambling and get back to work. The dryer stopped, so it's time to put my warm, soft, Egyptian Cotton sheets back on the bed so Tim & I can mess them up later tonight. LOL!

Have a fantastic day!

Too freakin' funny & what timing!

Okay, so a blog called Cake Wrecks is on my blogroll reading list. I love looking at all the freaky, screwed up cakes out there in the world. Today there was a new entry and I can't believe how freakin' funny and with such timing........

Check these out... especially the 3rd one. LOL!!
http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/2009/03/celebrating-different-kind-of-v-day.html

I love those!

.

Forgot to mention...

I forgot to mention how the tiling class went last night. My sister and I are now pros at tiling a floor and/or wall. LOL! We went to a class at Home Depot and it was fun, yet a bit messy. I came home with white mortar dried all over my fingers. My suggestions is that Home Depot provide some baby wipes when they have classes that are messy. LOL!

Anyway, it was easy and it was funny watching my left-handed sister trying to spread mortar with a right-handed tool. We both laid some tile and cut some tile. Then we went through and looked at the different types of tile, mortar, grout, and tools.

It was all very informative and worth the hour we were there. I definitely recommend the classes if you get the chance to take one. :-)

.

Friday Morning

Good morning all. It's finally Friday. Yay for the weekend!

Today is my errand day. However, I didn't have a lot to do and we were finished and back home by 8:30am this morning. Of course we also didn't go to the next town over for a bank visit and a trip to Wal-mart. LOL! We just stayed ver here and hit the local Bi-Lo and CVS, then back home. Now I have the rest of the day to laze around with Tim and wish for sunshine.

It's another rainy, gloomy day here. I'd like some sunshine, but this does make for a good lazy day. Gloomy days are only good for curling up in bed with the one you love. Or possibly for getting some writing done. LOL! Nonetheless, right now I'm chilly and am preferring the bed option.

It looks like this weekend will be filled with days inside as well. Even if the rain stops it'll just be too wet to do anything out there. Things are flooding and the ground is so sloppy. Yuck!

Our oldest daughter is having a sleepover here tomorrow night. That's always fun (NOT). I already have a house full of screaming girls and then she goes and adds more. LOL! Blah! I'll let them make some homemade pizzas and then send them off to do preteen girlie stuff in her bedroom. She has movie watching and nail painting planned.... nothing that'll require my attention. Yay!

I'm planning to finish the Character Dictionary on my website for the Alex & Fiona series this weekend. And my monthly newsletter goes out next Wednesday, so I have to make sure it's ready. I have several articles that are requiring my attention, and Liz is bugging me about doing to edits for Time For Death. Come on Liz, give a girl a break! Sheesh, she's such a bossy bitch! LOL.

Okay, I'm cold, so I'm headed to the bedroom. I hope you're all having a much drier day than I am!

.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Awww, what a day.

Today has been a wet, gloomy day here. Loads of rain came through, starting yesterday, and made everything all nasty. However, that's perfectly okay because I've gotten to spend the entire day at home with the hubby. It's been a great day.

I did some housework, worked on the Character Dictionary for my website, and watched the new James Bond movie with Tim (I thought the movie sucked). Then I had to run off to pickup time at school. Tim pouted that I was leaving him home alone, but I instructed him to be waiting in bed--naked--when I returned home. LOL! He thought I was kidding, but I texted him from school with "Naked, I say!" LOL!

When I brought the kids home I dropped them by the in-laws' house because FIL wanted to take them to the recycling center with him to take some aluminum cans off. THEN, I went home and found Tim exactly where I told him to be waiting. LOL!

Nice!!!!!!!!

We had a good hour and a half before FIL brought the kids home. Yay! It was great!

Now he's hungry and asking what's for dinner. LOL!

In a couple of hours my sister will be over here. She signed us up for a women only class at Lowe's or Home Depot (can't remember which she said) so that we can learn how to tile. It's not something I care to learn, but she didn't want to go all alone. Soooo, I guess I'll be getting dirty this evening when I'd rather be home. Oh well, you do what you gotta do, I suppose. LOL!

Okay, I'm out for today. Tim doesn't want me to leave him home alone tonight, but he'll survive for two hours while I'm 20 minutes away. Poor boy acts like I'll be gone for a week. However, it's nice to know he misses me when I'm gone.

Off to find dinner. Have a great evening all!

Wanna Know Wednesday #7...

Morning all. It's Hump Day again. This week has gone by quickly for me. With Tim only working three days, and my sister keeping me so busy, this week has gone whoosh!

Today I'm off on an early trip to visit a caterer with my sister and mom. Hopefully that won't last too long. Tim and didn't have a big wedding. Heck, we planned it in a week over Spring Break, got married on Saturday, and went back to school the next week. LOL!

Okay, so it's time for Wanna Know Wednesday. This is the 7th week, and I'm wondering what I haven't already told you about myself. Hmmm....

How about a wedding day theme since that's what I'm dealing with right now? :-)

  1. It was super windy on my wedding day.
  2. We had our wedding on my parents' front lawn.
  3. I wore a flowery dress from Goodies.
  4. Tim's wedding band was dropped down an A/C register before the ceremony.
  5. A friend from Subway made us a HUGE sandwich platter for the reception.
  6. The reception was held inside my parents' house.
  7. It was a small wedding, but there were a lot more people than I had expected.
  8. I will share a picture of the two of us on our wedding day when our anniversary rolls around in two weeks. :-)
  9. I would sneak peeks of Tim when no one was looking. He was chain smoking bad that day. LOL! Nerves, maybe?
  10. We had a chocolate wedding cake. Not white chocolate, but milk chocolate! It was gorgeous.

There you have it. We had a small wedding, but a very nice one. Sometimes I wish we'd had a big production of a wedding like my sister is planning, but that usually subsides fairly quickly when she starts talking about the cost of hers. LOL!

I'm off to take the girls to school and meet up with my sister and mom. Fingers crossed that I make it back before lunch so that I can get some work done.

A bright, sunny Tuesday.

Good afternoon all. Today is yet another gorgeous spring day. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and my windows are open to the airy outdoors. The only thing that could make this better is if Tim as home to enjoy it with me.

I spent the morning hanging out with my little sister. Well, she's not "little", but she is my baby sis. We went out early and hit the gym, played some basketball, and just goofed off. Then we went to a local dress shop to look at flower girl dresses. Then we came back to my house and worked on some of her wedding details.

She's getting married in May 2010, so all the planning has to begin now. She's planning a big, huge outdoor wedding and we're hoping that it doesn't happen to rain that day. LOL! We're looking at tents, dance floors, catering, chairs, tables, etc. Then there are the "save the date" cards, invitations, and RSVP cards. THEN there are the dresses and tuxedos... the numerous dresses and tuxedos. It's going to be a huge wedding.

It's fun, but can also be tedious.

Tomorrow we're driving an hour away to talk to a caterer who does everything listed above. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the one who can do it all and cut our workload in half. *Fingers crossed*

Anyway, that's been my day so far. LOL!

I have to leave in 20 minutes to get in the pickup line at school. So my day is pretty much over. At least I got a workout in this morning. LOL!

Unfortunately, I didn't mark one thing off of my "to-do" list today. Tomorrow doesn't look too promising for it either. I'll see what I can get done after I get back from pickup time today. Maybe one or two thing before dinner time.

Okay, I have to rush off now. I hope you're having a great day. Enjoy it! :-)

.

Monday, March 23, 2009

The sun is shining brightly.

Oh, and it's also Monday. :-)

Welcome to another brand new week. What do you have planned for this week? I hope that it'll be something fun and productive.

It's not even noon yet and I've already knocked out a lot of stuff on my weekly "to-do" list. I've even accomplished painting my nails a lovely shade of lilac. :-)

The morning has been lovely and the day is beginning to warm up like yesterday. Hopfully it will be warm enough to open the windows soon. It makes for a very nice day when all the windows are open and the birds are chirping brightly.

Even though it's only 11am here, my days always rush by between dropping the kids off at school and when I have to go back to pick them up. There just aren't enough hours in the day for all I want to get done. Maybe one of these days my hours will slow down enough for me to feel accomplished at the end of each one. LOL!

Okay, I'm off to fix the youngest some lunch and down another bottle of water since my time on the treadmill. I hate that machine, but I always feel good and sweaty afterwards. LOL!

Have a great Monday!

.

Sunday.

Good afternoon all. I can't believe it's nearly Monday again. These last four days have flown by so quickly.

Yesterday we spent most of the day outside. We worked around the yard, played with the dog, installed some new solar lights and japanese lanterns around the backyard fire pit. Unfortunately, it was so darn windy that we could safely light the firepit. However, the new lights worked like a charm once the sun went down. I'm looking forward to enjoying them once it's warmer. The girls keep begging to roast marshmellows and make smores. Maybe we can do that soon, now that's it officially SPRING! Yay!

Today we went for a visit with the in-laws and then came back home. I cleaned out the front flowerbed and moved some of my yard irises into it. Tim washed his car and then the girls tackled washing the van. Everyone was dirty and wet by the time we were all finished. LOL!

Now everyone is inside, though the windows are open and the house has a light breeze running through it. Tim is watching Nascar and the girls are off playing, or watching cartoons, or whatever they are doing. As long as they aren't fighting and screaming then I leave them be.

Me, well, I just finished writing up a contest over on the LTTM blog (so if you're an LTTM member, pop over and check it out) and now I'm doing this entry before heading over and working on the April issue of my newsletter.

I WAS going to do some book writing, but every time I started the girls would yell for me, or someone would start fighting. It's like they can sense when I'm trying to get work done. If they knew how much I enjoyed writing here on the blog then they would be interrupting this too. LOL! Luckily, they have no idea how much I like my blog. Tim is a different story though. He started flirting with me as soon as I began writing the LTTM entry. LOL!

Since it is Sunday, I've started my "to-do" list for the new week. It's an ever-expanding list, but here are a few things that I need to do in the upcoming week:

*** Repaint fingernails (yes, I actually have to schedule nail painting)

*** Make dinner rolls for the freezer (my sister got my last bag last week)

*** Call the urologist about insurance stuff (gotta make sure all the vasectomy details are perfect)

*** Make Spring skirts for the girls

*** Clean the carpet in my bedroom

*** Clean my laptop

*** Finish the Character Dictionary for my website (have you been waiting on this? LOL)

*** Work on my April newsletter

Yes, that's a lot of stuff, but it's also just the tip of the iceburg. It doesn't include all my normal household stuff, or my book writing. I might even throw in a web article or two, since I haven't written on in a while. Not to mention that I have a couple of magazine articles I need to finish. LOL! It's never ending.

Okay, I'm out. I need to do some other work and hopefully everyone will leave me be for a while to do it. Of course, the phone will probably ring as soon as I hit publish on this entry. LOL!

Oh, the picture above is of my three beauties while we were playing outside at the in-laws' house earlier today.

Have a great one!

Happy Friday to All!

*Yawn* Good morning all. It's the weekend! Yay!

Of course my weekend started yesterday with Tim only working three days this week. We had a very nice day and spent a lot of "quality time" together. LOL! Then he grilled out for us. Yum!

His urologist appointment went very well yesterday, and the vasectomy is scheduled for April 23rd. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to loads of "quality time" without the worry. It appears that he is too. ;-)

Today is my weekly errand day. I have to make a bank deposit (nope, I won't lose my card... I promise!), get groceries, and pick up a few other things from various locations. Then I need to come back home to finish laundry, do some writing, and try not to be distracted by the love of my life (who tries to distract me on purpose!). LOL!

It's just a normal Friday.

Oh, the girls will be going to spend the night with my mom tonight. I guess that means I'm in for a nice, quiet house! Nice!

Well, I hear Tim asking why I'm not ready to leave yet. LOL! Guess I better get started so that I'll be done by the end of the day. I hope you all have a great one!

Wanna Know Wednesday #6...

It's that time of the week again! Hump Day! Woohoo!

Today is Tim's last day of work this week. These three days have gone by quickly. I'm happy that he'll be home with me more. He'll get to start going to the gym with me two days a week now. I like having a partner going with me.

However, tomorrow there will be no morning gym session as we have the consultation appointment with a urologist to discuss Tim getting a vasectomy. Then of course he'll have to take it easy after the actual procedure. LOL.

Anyway, it's time for my weekly spill-fest. Time for you to find out ten things about me that you may, or may not, have wanted to know. LOL!

  1. I actually hate exercise.
  2. However, I feel sooooooo good after a workout.
  3. I hate sweating.
  4. I don't like wearing socks or shoes. I'd rather be barefoot all day.
  5. I can't sleep with my hair on my neck. I always pull it up into a ponytail before bed.
  6. I'm really looking forward to my anniversary. We're going away for that weekend!
  7. I wish we could go to the beach.
  8. I need to get the oldest a new swimsuit before our trip next month. We'll be staying at a hotel with an indoor pool. Yay!
  9. I think we'll have grilled salmon for dinner tonight. Yummy.
  10. Tim is an excellent griller. Of course I like not having to cook when he grills out. ;-)

Well, I'm off to get some work done. I won't get any of it finished tomorrow with the appointment. I have no idea how long the consultation will take, but I'm planning for a while and hoping for a short amount of time. :-)

Have a great day!

He's sick again.

Yes, that's right, poor Tim is sick again. That man can't win for losing lately. He's been sick for the last three weeks. I swear, it's ridiculous. I wish Spring would just hurry and arrive for good so all this mess would stop coming around.

Luckily, this time it's not bronchitis. It looks like a stomach bug of some sorts. Hopefully just a 24 hour bug thing because he was fine when he went to bed last night, yet woke up with an uneasy stomach that has gotten progressively worse throughout the day. I think he's only eaten an orange today, so I'll have him some soup ready when he gets home. Poor guy. He can keep that shit far away from me though. LOL!

I woke up with a touch of a migraine this morning, therefore I didn't get a bit of my work done today. If I don't slow down when I get one, then it gets a LOT worse and force me to slow down in pain. I did some light housework and watched "Rachel Getting Married", so that I can send it back to Netflix. I made a few phone calls and returned some emails. Nothing major.

All of that has helped make sure that my migraine went away without getting any worse, and I still managed a decently productive day. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get more writing done than just here on the blog. :-)

Well, I'm off to have a yogurt and see what Tim is texting me about. Have a great evening!

A Wet Monday.

Good morning to all of you lovely friends. I hope that you're in a good mood and welcoming this new week with open arms. Yes, Mondays usually suck, but just think of them as the start of something new and of all the possibilities that could show up. Each new week presents the opportunity for something great. You just have to be open to it!

This morning I was welcomed by an email containing the award banner for the Most Eye-Catching Cover. Yay! It makes me smile everytime I see that attached to MY book. It was a great way to start a Monday morning.

It's rainy and gross outside again this morning. Looks like a major chance of rain until the end of the week. Hopefully it will make for a beautiful, sunny weekend to come though.

This is Tim's first week of three days. It's a ten hour cut in his pay. Fingers crossed that it doesn't last long. Though, if it does, we'll get by. Just gotta convince Tim to stop begging for $60 video games. LOL!

I have my weekly "to-do" list staring at me, so I better get started. My little sister will be here in an hour because we're going to the gym together this morning. It's definitely more fun when you have someone to go with. Tim has been missing going to the gym with me. Looks like he'll be able to go with me two times a week now. LOL!

Have a great day! Hopefully your day isn't as wet as mine. :-)

You can link to Christie's Thoughts now!

My wonderful friend Mis (yes, the one I posted about last week) has created some gorgeous graphic buttons for the blog here. I only needed one, but she never goes with just one. LOL! So we now have three gorgeous buttons for anyone to use if they'd like to link to my blog here.
You'll find my favorite one over at the top of the left column. The code for you to use is right under it.
Here are the other two as well, in case you'd like them instead. :-)

Feel free to use which ever one you'd like (or all three) on your own blog, website, MySpace... where ever. :-)

Today has been a dreary one. It's cool and rainy. Totally the opposite of the gorgeous weekend we had last week. Looks like it'll be this way for like the next week, or so. I can handle it as long as it doesn't stay around longer than that. I was loving not having the heat on and being able to sleep with the windows open and hanging laundry outside. Come on Spring! I'm ready to start planting my garden and spending days outside all the time.

Our middle daughter is getting over a cold this weekend. She's been coughing and sniffling for days and the meds I was giving her weren't helping. So I changed her meds yesterday and today she's feeling much better. Yay! I get tired of hearing sniffling all the time. LOL.

The youngest is not happy about being cooped up in the house today. She's an outside girl and hates rainy days as much as I do.

The oldest has a sleepover to go to tonight. She's all excited and I've used it to get some actual housework out of her as leverage. LOL! Any good mom should know how to use a party against their child. It definitely helps to get their chores done faster and with less whining about them. LOL.

I've spent the morning doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning my bedroom, reorganizing my closet, and spending time with the family. Tim cooked breakfast for us this morning too. I'm not a morning person, and when I was pregnant I couldn't stand the sight of breakfast foods, so Tim started being the breakfast cook years ago. He does a good job too.

Oh, speaking of my hubby. Yesterday the new Resident Evil 5 video game released and he just HAD to have it. LOL. The poor guy has been waiting and waiting for that day, so how could I say no? I did, however, negotiate for a foot AND back massage in exchange for the $60 to buy the video game. I think I won big time on that deal! LOL! Plus, if he beats it as fast as he did the last game he bought, then we'll be able to take it back to Gamestop for a refund (they do that if you beat it within a week).

Well, the youngest is begging for lunch, so I better get to that before the tantrums begin. I hope you're all having a sunny Saturday! :-)

Thursday's Color Tones

Since I was talking about painting my nails last week, this week I'm going to list my top ten favorite nail polish colors in my collection.

I love nail polish, and it's one of the cheapest ways to add flair to your day. I'm not one to just stick to shades of pinks though I do have several different shades of pink). I enjoy purples, blues, black, all kinds of reds, browns, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

I don't usually go for the expensive bottles of polish. I change my mind so often, and buy so many, that it wouldn't be feasible to buy the expensive ones. So I usually stick to the Bon Bons and Petites (unless a more expensive one just REALLY catches my eye). They are just the right size to use up a bottle before it dries out and cheap enough that I can buy a new one every week if I want to.

My newest is one from Petites and it's called Crimson Pearl. I was looking and spotted it. When I picked it up I knew right away that it was a perfect match for my new red shoes. LOL! And it is! I have it one my fingers and toes right this minute.

  1. Crimson Pearl -- Petites
  2. Purple Potion -- Sally Hansen
  3. Frosted Ice Jamacia Me Crazy -- Pure Ice A dark purple shade
  4. Black Out -- Sally Hansen
  5. Purple Pleasure -- Revlon
  6. Action -- Petites A coral color
  7. Hot Pink -- Bon Bons I recently ran out of this one :-(
  8. Dare -- Petites A metallic blue color
  9. Frosted Ice New Lilac -- Pure Ice
  10. Hot Pink -- Sally Hansen

These are only half of the bottles I have sitting here right now. That doesn't count the ones I've used up and thrown out. I love all colors, with the exception of greens and yellows. I tend to like the ones that only take two coats to look good. If it's so light that it needs more than two, then I typically won't use it very often. I think I'll do either Dare or New Lilac next week sometime. I usually change colors about every week or every other week, depending upon my mood and how busy I am.

Okay, that's it for today. It's Tim's last day of work this week. Next week he goes down to three days a week. So he'll be off on Thursdays as well. Hopefully the cut in hours won't last long, but we'll pull through if it does. At least it'll give him more time to do some things he's been wanting to do, but never had the time for.

Til next time!

Look at my new play pretty...

I love adding new items to my lingerie collections. This is my newest edition! I already have a black and red corset from the same seller, but when I saw this black one I knew I had to have it. LOL!

This is a seller on eBay out of Hong Kong. At first I wasn't too thrilled about buying from outside the country for fear that it would take a month to arrive. However, my red and black one came in like a week and a half. Soooo, I order this one on February 26th and it arrived today. Yay!

Oh, I also ordered from her because her prices are like 50% less than the US sellers of the same items. When you spend $25 (including shipping) for the same item a US seller has priced at $50 BEFORE shipping, well, you've done well in my book.

Now, before I list the link to her eBay store, let me say that I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with this company. I'm simply a happily satisfied customer. Nothing more. :-)

Okay, that's it for today. I'm off to try on my new goodie and see how it looks! Have a fabulous day all. :-)
.

I would like to thank my friend....

MIS!

She makes me a sorts of goodies. Any graphics you see for me (banners, headers, buttons, hell, even my business cards) were designed by the one and only Mis. For those who don't know, she's the one who designed all three of my Alex & Fiona covers.

Anyway, she made me a new set of goodies that I thought I'd share. :-) Oh, and the first one I thought was absolutely perfect for my stalker. LOL!

Mis is also the owner of Mis-Taken Art. It's an image licensing company and has become very popular in such a short amount of time. I'm very proud of her for all she does and for how very talented she is in everything she makes.

Wanna Know Wednesday #5...

Good morning everyone. This morning was about eight degrees cooler than the last two had been. Yet we're still in the 50's so it's still nice enough. Unfortunately, rain is suppose to be moving in late tonight/tomorrow and be hanging around for the next week. Ugh! At least I got to enjoy many days of warm and sunny days. :-)

Okay, today's Wanna Know Wednesday is about movies. Tim & I have a Netflix subscription and we're always watching something new. We have watched 43 movie since the first of the year. No, I'm not going to list all 43, LOL. But here are the last ten that I'v seen.

~Transporter 3 -- Watched last night.
~City of Ember
~Equilibrium
~Australia
~Dracula III: Legacy
~Dracula II: Ascension
~Bram Stoker's Dracula
~The Haunting of Molly Hartley
~Dracula 2000
~Penelope

Yes, as you can see, I have been on a kick with old vampire movies. LOL! I was in the mood to rewatch a few, and Netflix makes that super easy to do. I still have Role Models and Rachel Getting Married sitting on the tv waiting for me to get to them.

Well, I'm off to get some work done. I hope you have a great Hump Day!

Ooooohhhhh!!! It won!

Look everyone!! A Twilight Abduction won Most Eye-Catching Cover in the January edition of The New Covey Cover Awards! Woohoo!!

I'd been wondering about the contest since their site hadn't been updated with the winners yet. However, when I looked today there it was. I'm sooooo happy. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote back in January. You're all appreciated greatly.

Here you go if you'd like to check it out, and take a peek at the cover that won Most Artistic. It's quite interesting!

Having a frustrated morning.

Well, it's another gorgeous day here in north Georgia. I'm totally loving this weather. We actually slept with the windows open in the house last night. That was nice! I woke up in a great mood. Then the day got better when my friend Lisa texted to tell me that her baby boy had been born a few hours earlier. Congratulations Lisa!!!

So why am I frustrated, you ask?

I'm frustrated with doctors!! Yep, doctors! Last Friday when I had to take Tim to the doctor we had the worst appointment ever. It was a practice we'd never been to (as we're in search of a good family practice right now) and I can assure you that we'll never go back there again. UGH!

Anyway, Tim and I have been discussing fertility. Or more precise, us not wanting more children. I've always had a rule that if I'm the person giving up my body to bring our children into the world, then he'll be the one to put a stop to it when the time comes. So now the time has come. He says he's as ready as he'll ever be, so let's get it done.

I went through our insurance company's website to see who was in-network and local. We narrowed it down to a practice in the next town over. I called this morning to get the ball rolling and found out that they want the entire price ($1,230) up front! ACK!

Now keep in mind that our insurance will pay 100% of this procedure AND this practice is in-network. Yet they make you pay it all up front and then we have to file it with the insurance. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

When I questioned her on the sanity of that, the little girl on the phone says she can transfer me to the billing department so they could clarify the details. I told her there was no point in doing that as I don't simply have $1200 laying around to hand them. LOL!

So now I'm back to searching for another doctor, only further away. Ugh! I hate doctor hunting, and we were really wanting to use one close, but I guess that won't be happening.

Off I go to bitch to Tim and find someone else to call about this.

Hope you're havng a better morning!

.

UPDATE: Yay!! I found him a doctor! Woohoo! It's about 20 mins further away, but these people were sooooo much nicer. She made the appointment for his consultation right then, answered all my financial questions, and even told me some things I didn't think to ask about. Much better!

We have a consultation next Thursday at 10:30am and then we'll schedule the procedure then. The doctor only does them on Thursdays, so it'll probably be the next week. That means Tim will have four days of recovery before he has to go back to work. YAY!!!

Okay,now I'm happy again. :-)

A beautiful Monday.

Happy new week to all of you wonderful readers out there! I'm in an extraordinarily great mood today. The weather has been superb for days now. My heat has been completely turned off in the house for a full three days now!

There's sunshine, blue skies, chirping birds, a light breeze, and comfortable temps to be had by all around here. Oh, and I saw blooming flowers today. Awwww, I love Spring!!

I'm the kind of person who needs sunlight to thrive. I get in a funk when it's always dark and cloudy and gloomy. I need sunshine! It makes me happy, energetic, and fully functional. LOL!

I just wish Tim was home to curl up in the hammock with me. LOL

Oh, speaking of him being home...

Now that the time has changed, we'll still have a whole hour - hour and a half of yummy daylight when Tim gets home each evening. I love this time of year!

Okay, enough gushing about Spring from me. I actually came to post about my forum. Some of you may remember that I posted a like to it a few months back. Well, I closed that one down because it was getting bombarded by fake members and spam. I just don't have that kind of time to constantly be banning people and removing spam posts.

Sooooo.....

I stared a Yahoo Group instead. I like them better anyway cause I can run it and post right from my email program. Makes it much easier for me. So here's the new forum for anyone interested.

Vampires, Werewolves, & Lust... Oh My!

I bet you didn't know that the name of the new forum was almost the title for A Midnight Infatuation. Yep, it's true.

Anyway, stop by and join. I have to approve all members, so that'll make it much easier to prevent fake accounts and spammers. And to anyone who does get through and spams us, I will NOT hesitate to ban you. It is my group after all. ;-)

I hope you're all having a fabulous day... even though it's a Monday. LOL!

What a beautiful day it has been!

Wow! I knew I was missing warmer temps, and I have been begging for Spring to arrive, but I didn't know just how much I wanted it until it arrived today! It has been in the mid-70's today here in north Georgia. The weather has been just spectacular! I'm in heaven!!

The girls spend the night with mom last night, so Tim and I woke up to a very peaceful house. The morning had clouds and a light misting drizzle. However, right after lunchtime the clouds parted, the sun shone brightly, and the sky became a beautiful shade of blue. It has been fantastic!

We worked outside most of the afternoon, just cleaning around the house and raking leaves. Then Tim grilled out cheddar brawts for us. Yum! Now everyone has a full tummy and it beginning their bath-taking. I look forward to a relaxing evening with the family because everyone is tired out. LOL!

On another note. I did take Tim to the doctor yesterday and I was right, he has bronchitis. He's now on a Z-pak and an inhaler. He should be feeling much better in a few days. Actually he looks and sounds a lot better today than he did Thursday. Poor guy was wheezing and gasping. Now he's sounding a lot better.

He's been so careful about not giving the rest of us his germs. I'm missing my mouth kisses terribly. Does anyone know how long he might be contagious? I haven't the foggiest idea.

Since he's dealing with this, we aren't going to visit the in-laws tomorrow. They are smokers and, even though they don't smoke when we're there, the smoke would be aggravating his lungs terribly. Tim smoked when we met, and during several years of our marriage. Once we built our house (and I was pregnant with the oldest), he was banned from smoking in-doors. Luckily, six years ago he finally kicked the habit.

He's been cigarette-free for 6 years and I'm soooo proud of him. What's really funny is that now the smell of smokers really bothers him. I just keep reminding him that I had to deal with it all those years he smoked and he's just getting paid back for it. LOL!

Anyway, he's feeling better now and that's what matters. We've had a glorious day and all are happy and relaxed. Oh, and we have to remember to move our clocks up and hour tonight! I love this time of the year. I like having daylight later in the evening.

I hope you're all having a good weekend and enjoying nicer temps. Til next time!

Six years ago today...

Today is March 6th. That means that today marks six years since my dad passed away from the horrible disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS for short. It's also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Dad was only 44 years old when he left us all too soon. He'd only just been diagnosed with ALS less than five months before his passing. He went so fast that our heads were spinning during those last months. I still remember the daze we seemed to be walking around in the days after his funeral. It took about a week before my emotions finally settled enough to allow me to feel the sting of our loss.

However, we made it through. Each year the pain gets less and less. Each year I find myself sobbing for him less and less. I still miss him, but the hole in my heart has gotten smaller; less raw and painful. I long for the days when he would toss my oldest into the air and she would yell, "Again Papaw! Again!" I feel saddened by the fact that my youngest never met him and my middle was too young to remember him.

We miss you Dad. I hope that you're happy and healthy, where ever you may be. :-)

Tootsie Thursday!

Welcome to Thursday. It's the last day of the week for the hubby and I (though the children still have school tomorrow). Lets hope that tomorrow goes better than last Friday did. LOL! No more letting the ATM keep my bank card. LOL!

Today's topic... Tootsies!! Yes, all about feet, shoes, and whatever else I can think of that has to do with my feet. ;-)

  1. I wear a size 10 shoe, but use to be a 7 before getting pregnant with our first daughter.
  2. Tim loves me in high heels, but I was very unsteady in any height of heel for many years. It wasn't until the last 5 years that I could walk in anything higher than flats. LOL!
  3. I paint my toe nails every single time I paint my fingers. They must always match.
  4. However, I don't always remove the polish on my toes when I remove it on my fingers... only if I'm going to paint them again.
  5. My pinky toes only have a teeny tiny nail. Hardly even big enough for the polish brush to leave color behind.
  6. My pinky toe actually curls and lays to the side, instead of out in front like the others.
  7. All three girls have my pinky toes. It was the first thing Tim looked for after each was born. LOL!
  8. My feet actually look small, even though they are 10's.
  9. I have 2 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of flat dress shoes, 3 pair of sandals, 1 pair of high heeled knee high boots, and you all saw my newest pair of gorgeous, red heels a few weeks ago. Mmmmm!
  10. Lastly, I currently have no nail polish on either my toes or my fingers. However, I am planning to paint them this weekend, probably a dark purple, or maybe black.

There you go. Things you didn't even want to know about my feet. LOL!! Anyone want to share what color is on their toes right now?? I'm a lover of nail polish and always looking for a new color. Maybe next week I'll list all the colors I currently have. :-D

Til next time!!

Wanna Know Wednesday #4...

It's Hump Day again! Hooray! The hubby ended up coming home early from work yesterday cause he was feeling bad. I'd told him the night before not to bother going if he woke up feeling sick, but did he listen? Noooooo. LOL! Geez! However, he came home before lunch and I doped him up with NyQuil and sent him off to bed for a few hours. He was feeling a bit better later in the evening after dinner. He went on to work this morning, and from the texts he's already sent me, he's feeling just awful. Poor guy. He hates going to the doctor, but I just called and made him an appointment whether he likes it or not. LOL!

It's time for my new weekly entry... Wanna Know Wednesday.

Today's topic of conversation is music. I love having music playing in my house all day. My television hardly ever goes off the digital music channels between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

  1. If I'm in a good mood, you'll see me singing at the top of my lungs when I'm driving. And no, I don't care who sees me. ;-)
  2. I always have the radio blaring when a good song is on. The girls learned to enjoy music from an early age. LOL!
  3. I like about 95% of the music that is on the Hit List.
  4. I don't like Country music... with the very small exception of a few songs.
  5. I love when Tim turns his car radio up really loud and the bass thumps in his big speakers. It reminds me of our teenage years when all his friends were trying to see who could thump the hardest. LOL!
  6. My current favorite song is "Sweat" by Filly.
  7. One of these days I will have a nice sporty vehicle with a fabulous sound system to listen to my music on. My minivan just isn't conducive to a good beat. LOL!
  8. Tim and I enjoy more of the same music now than we did when we dated.
  9. My oldest daughter has an acoustic guitar that she begged and begged for. It now sits beside her bed and is occassionally strummed.
  10. I find myself matching books up with music. Some just match perfectly.

Okay, that's it for today. I'm off to do... well, something. LOL! I hope you have a wonderful day. :-)

March already?

Gosh, I can't believe that it's already March. I'm still getting use to writing 2009 on checks. LOL!

March has started out very cold here in north Georgia. We woke up to 24 degrees with a windchill of 11. Crazy cold for us. It was suppose to snow yesterday, but we didn't see a single flake here. The girls were disappointed and Tim was hoping for a snow day at home. Poor children. LOL!

Since it is March now, I want to remind everyone that my monthly newsletter will be going out on Wednesday. It always goes out on the first Wednesday of the month. If you aren't already signed up to receive it, now's definitely the time. :-) Just click the "newsletter" link at the top of the page.

I found out the winner of my February contest with CoffeeTimeRomance.com. Congratulations to Amanda for winning a collection of bath goodies and book of her choice. For those who didn't win, no worries! There will always be more contests and giveaways. I love giving away goodies. :-)

My weekend went pretty peacefully. I got a lot of work done and had a good time with the family. Tim & I played Fable II off and on all weekend. He's not usually into RPGs, but he's really enjoying this one. He's played more than I have and is much further in the story. Of course, that just means he'll get finished sooner so that I can have it all to myself. LOL!

I don't have a big to-do list this week. I make my list every Sunday for the new week, and usually it's a pretty long list. However, I was surprised yesterday when couldn't think of more than half a dozen items to put on my list. Wow! I even asked Tim if he knew of anything needed to do this week, and he didn't. Soooo, it looks like I'll be having an easy week. There's just a few household things I need to do, and I always have my regular work to do, but not much more than that.

Nice!

Well, I guess I'll go do some baking today and do a little restocking of the freezer. I hope you all have a fabulous week! :-)
