What is Kickstarter?

Follow on Kickstarter

Good morning and welcome to another brand new week full of possibilities! As the big day grows nearer, I wanted to share a little information with anyone who isn't familiar with the Kickstarter platform before the launch of The Cadence of Death.

First off, Kickstarter is NOT GoFundMe. This site isn't about donations. Kickstarter IS a place to support/back authors, and other creatives, in their endeavors to create something beautiful, magical, or downright amazing in this world of chaos.

For authors such as me, Kickstarter provides a way to bring about gorgeous deluxe editions of our books that, without backers like you, we may otherwise not be able to create. Foiled covers, color artwork, custom creations, and those amazing sprayed edges can be quite cost prohibitive to a lot of authors. Yet, those are the things that make books stand out and bring in new readers.

So how does it work?

When a creator launches a Kickstarter campaign, it's an all-or-nothing situation. The funding goal is set and when the campaign hits that goal, all the happiness happens. If the goal is not hit, then you, as a backer, will NOT be charged, and the campaign will not move forward. No goodies, no beauties, no money lost on your end.

If the campaign DOES hit the goal, whatever you pledged to back will be charged to your payment choice and you'll receive whatever you backed in the coming weeks/months.

For example, my lowest tier in the upcoming campaign is only $3 for a set of printable bookmarks and goes all the way up to $250 for a collectible book box filled with beautiful and exciting things. So if you pledged $3 and the campaign funds 100% or more, then you'll receive a PDF file with printable bookmarks for you to use in any way you'd like.

There are also Stretch and Flash Rewards throughout the campaign. Stretch Rewards mean if we hit a certain dollar point over the funding goal, I'll throw in another goodie for backers (some are for everyone and some are for only physical book backers). Flash Rewards aren't dependent on the dollar amount and is just something fun I'll give to all the backers.

There will be a lot more information on the campaign once it has launched. However, I hope this helps in the meantime. And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. :) You can even check out Kickstarter's explanation on their website here.

Now is the time to sign up to follow the campaign! Launch day is right around the corner and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out.

The Cadence of Death ~ Coming Soon!

Character Inspiration - Chad Langford

*~*~*~ 👇Follow the Kickstarter campaign to be notified of launch👇*~*~* https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/christie-silvers/the-cadence-of-death-omnibus-luxe-hardcover Meet Chad Langford, our heroine's friend, employee, bar bouncer, and eventually lover. Chad is a normal human, however, he does have a few secrets of his own to discover, and is quickly embroiled in the world of monsters. Chad is a quiet man, usually only getting chatty with Liz, and being snarky and argumentative with Monty. He willingly throws himself into the middle of all the monstrous insanity that Liz's life becomes because he would do anything to protect her. Even if that means giving his life for hers. Read more about Chad and all the exciting things he does with/to Liz in the upcoming special edition omnibus, The Cadence of Death. *NOTE: This is an AI created image & will NOT be in the finished omnibus.*

Since the newsletter has already gone out, who would like to see a sneak peek of what will be in * 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 * (Coming soon to Kickstarter)?

Here's just one mockup of what you'll find at the beginning of each book in this gorgeous omnibus. There will be over a dozen full color pages filled with character images and scenes, along with custom chapter headers and scene breaks, custom end pages, foiling on the matte case (and potentially on the dust jacket), as well as a built-in silver ribbon bookmark. And that doesn't even include all the bookmarks, art prints, stickers, hand-poured candles (by lil ole me), and so much more!

I'm already in love with this book and I haven't even gotten to hold it in my hands yet! <3

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing sneak peeks and even character inspiration images. Be sure to click the link to follow the campaign and be notified of the launch when it happens.
