The 10th Liz Baker book. Coming soon!

Welcome to March! Spring is right around the corner, and we're already seeing signs of its arrival here in north Georgia. The daffodils are bloomed out and it won't be long before the trees start budding. I told the hubs if he plans to do any work in the forest he better get on it before the vines and weeds come back.

I had an issue over the weekend though. We went to Tractor Supply to get some chicken feed for my hens and *BOOM* the baby chicks are out! Squee!! And not only are they baby chicks, but they're Easter Eggers. I've wanted some for soooo long. These are the hens that lay blue and green eggs. So let me tell you it took a lot of willpower to walk out of that store with just the feed for my hens. That's not to say I won't go back, but right now I didn't buy more chickens. Both Tim and our 17yo say I have enough chickens, but oh well. Momma probably gonna get more chickens. LOL!

In the meantime, I have lots of good stuff I'm working on for 2022. The first being the release of my 10th Liz Baker book. This story will release on April 5th and you can preorder for only $0.99 until the big day.

Eternally Deadly is the last book in the Liz Baker series. I had fun writing it and I hope it brings an acceptable close to the series for all the readers who enjoy Liz's crazy life.

Recently, I finished a short story that will come out later in the year (a vampiric take on Jack & Jill), and I'm working on another short story now (vampire meets tired single mom in a grocery store). I'm also working on two novels for releases this year (Penny, Bk 2 & a new devil story). It's going to be a busy year, and I've already used up two months of the year. Eek! I'd like to crank out a third novel, but it would be a 2023 release and depend on the demands of this year's releases. So, we'll see how that goes.

Right now, I'd like to send my thoughts to the people of Ukraine. The world is already filled with so much darkness and despair that it's a shame people feel the need to inflict this pain on others. It's a sad time for the world at large. My heart goes out to everyone suffering.

Do you have a minute to help me?

Good afternoon! Autumn is on the way here in north Georgia. After a lovely two weeks of dry, cool weather, this week will be a rainy mess around here. I like this time of year, but it always reminds me that the dreaded winter is right around the corner. I'm NOT a winter person.

In the meantime, I've been hard at work on book 9 of the Liz Baker series. It's moving right along (even though Liz is giving me a lot of attitude), but I still haven't figured out a title for it. I have it narrowed down to four options and decided to put up a poll for my readers to decide.

If you have a minute (literally, the poll says it takes 1 minute), click over and choose the title you like the best. Right now it's at a tie, so do me a favor and break that tie so I can tell the cover designer what to put on the front of the book. LOL!

Thanks for your help!

Happy New Year! It's cover reveal time!

Isn't she lovely? I fell head-over-heels for this cover the moment I saw it. It's beautiful! I used the same cover designer as the entire series and after all these years she has amazed me yet again. This is actually #2 out of 3 designs because she wanted to get it just right. Even after the 3rd one I told her I just couldn't pass up this one. I love it!

Next up will be the release date announcement. I'm hoping to let you all know about it in a couple of weeks, after I get everything in order, so be on the lookout for that one. :)

Best wishes and a Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2021 brings you peace, happiness, health, and love. Fingers crossed for a better year than 2020 provided. Love and hugs to everyone!

Can you take a moment to vote?

Happy New Year, readers, friends, and family! I hope 2014 ended happily for you and that 2015 brings new joys and adventures in your life.

I ended 2014 by celebrating my oldest daughter's journey into adulthood. She turned 18 on December 30th and her one request was for a Chuck E. Cheese party. And boy did I comply! LOL. She was so embarrassed, but it was exactly what she asked for. :P

The new year brought on a desire for change, so I've spent the last week painting my house. Fresh, clean walls in a new, bright color makes the house look so nice. Granted, the color I chose looks a good deal brighter on the walls than it did on the sample card, but it's growing on me.

With the new year brings another voting opportunity at Preditors & Editors. Over the years several of my books have placed in the top ten, and I'm hoping this year is no different. To Kill a Demon has been nominated for best cover, and boy does it have a beautiful cover. Currently it's listed in 10th place, but it fluctuates (it was in 6th place a few days ago). So if you can find a moment, please stop by and give it a vote. Be sure to use a valid email address because they will send you a vote verification link. http://critters.org/predpoll/bookart.shtml

Next up for me is the annual Book 'Em NC event in Lumberton, NC. I attend every year and enjoy seeing all the authors new and old, as well as my beloved fans in that area of the world. This year I'll even be sitting on a panel (Eek!) about creating fictional worlds. But more about that next month. :)

Happy New Year!

To Kill a Demon Cover Reveal

This week I revealed the cover for my upcoming release, To Kill a Demon (Liz Baker, bk 6). This latest installment of Liz's world is scheduled for release in June. In case you missed the cover, here you go.

I think it turned out quite nicely. My cover designer always does a beautiful job and each time we put a new cover together she surprises me again. I give her a few paragraphs of details about the story, ideas I have for the cover, and reminders about a few points we keep consistent from cover to cover, and in no time at all she pops out something wonderful. I don't know how she does it. Love you, Kelly!!

On another note, if you're on Facebook you've probably noticed all the changes that have come about lately. The pages you like aren't showing up on your newsfeed like they used to. Sometimes I have to actually go hunting for the ones I like to read the most. Sooooo, if you're a fan of my page, would you be so kind as to stop by and click to get notifications. This will ensure you receive all of my updates in the future.

Don't know how to get notifications? Well, I'll tell you.  :D

First, go to my page at http://www.facebook.com/authorchristiesilvers
Next, hover your mouse pointer over the LIKE button, a drop down box will appear and you click on "Get Notifications."

It's just that easy. We'll stay connected and you won't miss out on the news when I have new releases, reveals, appearances, and giveaways.

I hope you have a great weekend!

New Time for Death, Second Edition

Good morning, everyone. I hope the week is treating you kindly. I'm currently working on the Liz Baker short story, Death Reflected, and waiting on my Federal tax refund to show up. We'll be working on home improvements over the next few weeks with that money. As well as knocking some away into savings.

Speaking of improvements, I'm releasing a second edition of Time for Death (Liz Baker, book 1) just in time for the Book 'Em NC Conference & Book Fair. Something eye-catching and up to date with books 2 and 3.

This new cover looks even more gorgeous in print than it does on the computer screen. Once again, due to the incredible talents of my cover designer Kelly Shorten. Thank you, Kelly!

The first edition of Time for Death is on the road to retirement and over the next several weeks will be replaced in book databases by this new edition. I know the Kindle, Nook, and Smashwords editions are already up-dated, but it will take a bit longer for the print copies to change over.

And as always, if you want a signed copy for yourself, or for gift giving, they are always available straight from me via ChristieSilvers.com.

Now I'm off to do the whole wife/mother thing with laundry, dishes, housecleaning, before jumping into today's writing. Have a good one!

Plans for the week

Last week was a bust, what with Tim being off work and the kids home for summer break. Everyone was here and no one wanted to get along. There was more than one occasion where I threw my hands up in the air and declared an end to my day. Yep, it wasn't pleasant.

This week Tim goes back to work and the fighting between the children seems to have slowed down. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get some actual work completed. At least I have a list showing me what all I want to complete this week.

That's not to say nothing was completed last week. Oh no, there was definitely a good bit marked off my list. However, most of that was household stuff and not book stuff. Yeah, I'm happy about the household stuff, but I'd rather have the peace, quiet and alone time to complete my book stuff. I get frustrated when my writing time is decreased.

So, here I am, typing up my plans for the week for all to see.

  • Complete edits on a three book project

  • Discuss the new cover of Alex & Fiona Forever with my beloved designer

  • Work on Liz Baker, book 3--which is still untitled

  • Remind everyone that TIME FOR DEATH (Liz Baker, book 1) is still on sale for only $0.99 on Kindle and Nook

  • Continue working on the list of goodies I need to order for the Book 'Em NC event in February

  • Take my children to the library on Friday

  • Finish reading DEAD IF I DO by Tate Hallaway so I can take it back to the library

  • And still be the perfect wife & mother with the clean house, clean laundry and three meals a day on the table.

Whew! That's a lot to do in only 7 days. Well, I guess it's technically 6 days since today's Tuesday. It's no damn wonder I never feel like there's enough hours in the day. And here I am distracted from all this proposed work with wondering what color to paint my nails next.

The first look at Time For Death.

Click to see a larger version of the cover.
Good morning everyone!  Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Are you wearing your green?  It's the middle of the week and I have a goodie to show you.

<--------------  Isn't it lovely?!  Click on cover to see it larger.

I think it realy symbolizes the turmoil Liz is going through during the story.  The monstrous, swirling storm clouds as red as blood, along with the darkened cabin make 100% sense when you read the story.

I received my proof copy of Time For Death yesterday.  I've been expecting it, and even though I have the computer file of the cover, I wanted to wait until I saw it in print, in my hands, to make sure it looked as good in reality as it does on the computer screen.  That's why I planned this blog entry for today instead of Monday.
With this approval of the cover, Time For Death is just one step closer to its April 30th release date.  The biggest excitement to come will be when the book gets its listing page on Amazon.  That tends to take several weeks because Amazon only updates book information once or twice a month.  Now we just wait.

I have added a Pre-Order option to the website.  All pre-ordered books will be shipped before the April 30th release date.  How's that for an incentive to pre-order?  LOL.

Now, before I go for today I want to introduce you to the newest members of our family.  Our outside dog, who we adopted as a stray when she was a teeny little puppy over 3yrs ago, just surprised us with four little rats.....

There are three dark brown ones and a single white with brown patches.  Fudge (our girl dog) is quite protective of her new babies and we've respected her privacy... other than a once a day check on them all with praise, petting and treats for the mommy.

And here's the mommy when we brought her home.

Awww, that was so long ago.  She's a big dog now.  :-)

Okay, that's it from me today.  Be sure to come back tomorrow when I discuss Kill Me Next Week.  What'll happen with Liz in book 2?

Thursday morning around here.

Good morning all you lovely people.  It's nearly the weekend, again.  The week has been a busy one, yet going by very quickly.

This week my time has been occupied with book work, discussions about book cover designs, formatting, and numerous other tasks that involve a book's release.  Plans are moving along slowly, but steadily.  It takes time, and persistence, but hopefully in the next few months I'll have another story for you to enjoy!  *Fingers Crossed*

This new series of books is a bit different from my Alex & Fiona books.  Sure, there are the supernatural aspects of the story (i.e. vampires), yet this time our main character is a sullen, smart ass, southern girl while won't take shit off no one.  She knows what she likes, knows what she doesn't, and even the best, most mind-blowing sex she's ever had can't relinquish her hold on her senses.  She'll ultimately do what's right--what's expected of her--even if she hates every minute of it.

Within the next few weeks I'm hoping to share a cover design with everyone.  From there, it's just a matter of time 'til the release.  :-)

In the meantime, those of you who received my newsletter yesterday morning already know about this...  The rest of you, here's the fun announcement I promised.  Just for those of you who haven't yet found your way into Alex & Fiona's life together.  :-)

Anniversary Celebration in April

Next month Tim and I will be celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. To commemorate our special day, I will be holding a special e-book sale on April 9th. My e-book prices will be cut in half for 12 hours.

You'll be able to pick up A Midnight Infatuation, A Birth at Dawn & A Twilight Abduction for only $2.50 each. You'll be able to get all three for a grand total of $7.50!
This sale will only be through the e-book links on my website and will only be for 12 hours... April 9, 2010, 9am-9pm.
I will, of course, post about this on my blog and send out a reminder in my April newsletter so no one will miss the big day. I wanted you wonderful newsletter subscribers to know about it first.
I hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to own all three Alex & Fiona books.

Well, that's it from me today.  I have to go out for groceries, and then back home to make some phone calls.  After that it'll be more book work until pick-up time at school.  My other "worlds" must be interrupted and put on hold when the children need me.  That's the suffering of a mommy who just happens to be a writer.

As much as I'd like to lock myself away and write all day, I'll happily wait until the youngest has gone to school to enjoy that privilege.  They're only small for so long, you know.  :-)

A Special Announcement!

As many of you may know, I used a different cover designer on the last two books of my Alex & Fiona series than I did on the first one. I've never really "liked" the cover to A Midnight Infatuation... much less loved it like the last two.

Sooooo, I've been working with the artist and cover designer of the last two to come up with a brand spanking new cover for a re-release of A Midnight Infatuation!!! It will take a few weeks for the new cover to trickle its way down through the book-selling systems and start showing up on bookstore sites, but the cover will be available immediately on my site. And it will be the one you get if you order all three during my sale in November.

So, here it is! The drawing was by the same artist as the other two and the design is from the same cover designer. It really makes this a "set."

I think it's fantastic! Now the three can be the set I intended them to be! I'm very excited about it and hope that my fans will be as well.

Now, not only is A Twilight Abduction scheduled for release on Halloween, but I'm hoping that the new version of A Midnight Infatuation will have made its way through the system by then as well. It's all very exciting, and if it weren't for the migraine I'm battling, I'd probably be jumping up and down with joy. LOL!

Like I said, this copy will be available through my website almost immediately (think next week or so), but I will announce when it finally makes its way into the Amazon system for those of you who prefer shopping with them. :-)

And lastly, I'd like to add a special thank you to my favorite cover designer Mis and our favorite artist Zindy. You're both spectacular!!! Lots of love.

Well, that's it from me today. I'm fighting off a migraine and I still need to go run my Friday errands (though I'm running later than usual). I hope you all have a fabulous Friday. :-)

ATwilight Abduction -- The new cover is here!!

So, many of you will find this old news as you saw the cover asoon as you opened your email this morning and read the newsletter. But for those of you who simply read the blog, here's your chance to see my new favorite thing in the whole wide world.............

The colors are extraordinary and the design is superb. I love my cover designer and the wonderful artist who created the drawing in the center.

So what do you think???

It's soooo close!

I can't believe that next week is the start of September. I'm dying to show all of you the new book cover for A Twilight Abduction. And, yesterday the new book trailer was finished. BUT, I can't show it to all of you because it has the book cover in it. LOL! This waiting mess is for the birds. LOL

I promise that it'll be well worth the wait when all is revealed next week. I have a time schedule for everything and I'm very controlling about that. So, even though I'd love to show you all right this very minute, I have a schedule and I'm sticking to it.

Also, don't forget that next Monday starts my September giveaway. So anytime during the month of September, stop by the website and try for your chance to win an autographed poster or e-book of either A Midnight Infatuation or A Birth at Dawn (winner's choice).

With all these special days coming up, I need to make a calendar just to remind myself. LOL!

Have a great week, everyone!
