Welcome to October!

I love the month of October!  I can't believe it's finally here.  October has always been a magical, fun, exciting month for me.  As children, it's the month we get to plan out our Halloween costumes, think about all the yummy goodies we'll receive, and maybe even throw a Halloween party of our own.

As an adult, I still enjoy costume decisions, parties, and the excitement the children share with me.  When else can you buy arm loads of costumes, make-up, decorations, and candies without being looked at sideways.  LOL!  Oh, and I can't forget about apple-picking and making all sorts of yummy things with those apples.

However, I also find that October is a happy month around here.  I like the milder temperatures, the changing leaves, playing outside as much as possible before cold weather hits.  Tim & I also like to plan a get-away for just the 2 of us in October.  For the last 2 years we've been going to Charlotte, NC for a Nascar race.  I doubted that we'd get to go this year, but Tim's determined to find tickets in my pre-assigned ticket price range.  LOL.  We'll see if he manages to do it before the race.  ;-)

Yes, yes, I know.  I spoil that man far too much.  Sex anytime, anywhere he wants, a nice library of Xbox games, meals he loves, attention whenever he wants it... yep, he's quite spoiled.  Oh well, I have fun, and he does anything I ask him to do.

Anyway, back to October.  This is a fun month for me, and I know it'll go by too quckly.  Nonetheless, I still have a lot of work to do, too.  My goal is to completely finish the rewrites and edits for Time For Death before we go to the race (if we go).  Then I'll have about 2 weeks left in October before I have to worry about NaNoWriMo starting on November 1st.  I already know what story I'll write that month, but if I don't get done with this one I won't even bother starting another in November.  Soooo, I'm determined!

I did start the new chapter 13 today, and tomorrow I'll get more done on it after we run some errands.  Well, if Tim leaves my laptop alone long enough for me to work.  He likes my laptop for ticket searching over the desktop.  I might have to buy him his own after the new year so he'll leave mine alone and stop whining about using a purple one.  LOL.

Okay, since today is October 1st, it's time to announce that my September e-Book giveaway is over.  The winner of an Alex & Fiona book in e-Book form is Shannon S.!  Congrats and I hope you enjoy it!  I've already contacted the winner and hope to hear from her soon.  :-)
Thank you to all of my new blog followers, and be on the lookout for future goodies.  I love giving away goodies.  :-)  My next contest will probably be in December, so keep an eye out for announcements.

That's it for me this morning.  I've got big, busy plans for today... and I need to keep Tim on his toes begging for race tickets.  It's always a lot of fun to see how much extra attention I get from him when he wants something big.  *giggle*  I got a foot rub last night!  Woohoo!

Have a great Thursday.  :-)

The winner is....

After a random drawing (read: names on tiny pieces of paper, in a jar, & 1 drawn out by the hand of my lovely 4 yr old), congratulations to Jenn P. for being the winner of an autographed mini-poster of A Midnight Infatuation!

I hope that you'll enjoy the poster. It's just a gorgeous cover. I have one of my own framed and hanging in the livingroom (along with the other two).

March already?

Gosh, I can't believe that it's already March. I'm still getting use to writing 2009 on checks. LOL!

March has started out very cold here in north Georgia. We woke up to 24 degrees with a windchill of 11. Crazy cold for us. It was suppose to snow yesterday, but we didn't see a single flake here. The girls were disappointed and Tim was hoping for a snow day at home. Poor children. LOL!

Since it is March now, I want to remind everyone that my monthly newsletter will be going out on Wednesday. It always goes out on the first Wednesday of the month. If you aren't already signed up to receive it, now's definitely the time. :-) Just click the "newsletter" link at the top of the page.

I found out the winner of my February contest with CoffeeTimeRomance.com. Congratulations to Amanda for winning a collection of bath goodies and book of her choice. For those who didn't win, no worries! There will always be more contests and giveaways. I love giving away goodies. :-)

My weekend went pretty peacefully. I got a lot of work done and had a good time with the family. Tim & I played Fable II off and on all weekend. He's not usually into RPGs, but he's really enjoying this one. He's played more than I have and is much further in the story. Of course, that just means he'll get finished sooner so that I can have it all to myself. LOL!

I don't have a big to-do list this week. I make my list every Sunday for the new week, and usually it's a pretty long list. However, I was surprised yesterday when couldn't think of more than half a dozen items to put on my list. Wow! I even asked Tim if he knew of anything needed to do this week, and he didn't. Soooo, it looks like I'll be having an easy week. There's just a few household things I need to do, and I always have my regular work to do, but not much more than that.

Nice!

Well, I guess I'll go do some baking today and do a little restocking of the freezer. I hope you all have a fabulous week! :-)

I was awarded!

I was surprisingly awarded today by ~C~, with this...

Awwww! Thanks! :-D

Since there are always rules to these things....

-Only five people allowed
-Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog
-One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world
-You must link back to whoever gave you the award

So since I think that I have met all the rules I feel that I should pass this award on to :

1. Stef at My Love Knot
2. Kaylene at Five Times Blessed
3. Cailin Marie at My Pretty Face
4. Mis at Lil Mama's Laundry Day Chronicles
5. Robin Renee at Chasing Dreams

Ok, now that that's out of the way, I was without internet half the day today! Even after an hour on the cell phone (I have Vonage) with tech support, they couldn't figure it out. Finally the lady gives up and sets me up with a housecall tomorrow morning. How the heck am I suppose to go without internet until tomorrow morning???

So I scramble the 3yr old and decided that we'd just run to the closest Wi-Fi hotspot so I could check my hundreds of emails that would be piled up on top of each other after hours of not checking them. Of course the closest hotspot to me is the local Krystal's resturant.

I decided one last time to reboot everything for the 100th time this morning before heading out. Low and behold the internet was now back on. YAY! I still had to take the 3yr old out for lunch because she didn't understand that mommy only wanted to go out because she wanted to get online. LOL!

Anyway, I'm back now. Oh, and the tech support housecall for tomorrow has been cancelled. Who wants to bet that the tech guy shows up tomorrow anyway?? LOL!

Lastly, the contest winners for my "Hooray They're Out of My Hair" giveaway have been announced on my website (and in the newsletter that went out this morning). Thanks to all who entered, and don't worry if you didn't win as there will be many more giveaways in the future!

Happy October everyone!
