2017 Book Schedule

As most of you know, my newest book released back on March 7th. So far, Devastating Sorrow has received a warm welcome and I envision a lot of excitement in Penny Montague's future as more books in her series come to me. She will still fight to control her grief from losing her son, but also fight for those around her. There's a lot to come for her, but before all that, I thought I'd share with all of you my plans for the rest of 2017.

Before this release, my last book came out at the end of 2014. *Gasp* Before then, I was release 2-3 books a year. Throw in short stories and articles, and I was a busy bee. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond my control dictated that I work less on my books and more on family relations (my mother's cancer & passing). I'll never regret that, but it did take me away from the work I love.

Therefore, I'm planning to make 2017 my best publishing year yet! Not only did you get Devastating Sorrow, but I'm planning two more books and a short story this year. Woohoo!!

Keep in mind, the actual dates of releases will be posted closer to time, but for now here is the tentative scheduling.....

Do you like crossovers? Television does it quite often, and now movies do it (think Marvel). Taking characters from one favorite show and throwing them into the world, live, and problems of another favorite show is something I truly enjoy.

I like to see these independent characters, who always deal with their own stuff, interacting with characters from another location who are now asked to deal with the first characters' stuff, too. So what about books? I've seen it happen a few times between a single author's multiple book series, as well as two or more authors bring their characters into a joint venture. I like it, especially when I've read the previous books that are mentioned. It's like an ah-ha moment when you recognize a character you already know in a place you didn't expect to see them.

With all that being said, I'm considering a crossover with characters from my Liz Baker series in my new Penny Montague series. As I'm writing this first book I feel a natural progression toward making mentions of the vampires and werewolves currently residing in the north Georgia mountains (i.e. Liz and Monty).  Penny resides in the Atlanta area, but you'll find her on a mission that leads her farther north. Soooo.... maybe?

What's next for the Liz Baker series?

I've had a few emails from readers asking when the next Liz Baker book will be released, so I figured I'd touch base with you guys on this series.

If you're up-to-date on the series, you know there are currently six books and one short story available. Liz has been up to her ears in monsters, demons, friends, family, and two horrible fathers, but that doesn't stop her. She keeps right on moving forward and attempting to create the life she wants. The next book will be no different in that respect.

And yes, there is another book coming out, two or three more actually. Her birthday is coming up in the next book, and thus a very elaborate party at Adele's estate (will it ever not be Adele's estate?) with hundreds of guests, a lot Liz has never met, and some she's only heard of.

If you read book 6, you know the ending leads to more trouble (when do they not), right after Liz gets rid of her longtime enemy. Christmas has come, gifts were exchanged, everyone seems to be settling in at the estate, but of course it can't last long. If it did there wouldn't be a story to tell. ;)

As for the series on a whole, I know I have two or three more books to go. I have their ideas in my head with snippets of notes on paper. I, however, don't know what will happen after those two to three books. If only I could see the future (boy, wouldn't that be awesome sometimes).

So don't worry Liz Baker fans, she will return for at least a few more books. And who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of her in the new series I just started. More on that at a later date.

Newsletters Need Love Too

Some of you may recall that in previous years I had a monthly newsletter. However, finding the time to get a monthly newsletter out each month without simply regurgitating stuff that was already on the website and/or all the social networks became more of a chore than I was able to keep up with. So, I informed the subscribers that the newsletter would cease. Some were quite upset and let me know that they'd miss it dearly.

That brings us to the present. A newsletter is a huge benefit to any author and their fan base, so I've started a new one. This newsletter will only be for big announcements, new book releases, appearances, contests and giveaways. Basically, the big stuff. It will go out 3 - 6 times a year, as need dictates to share new developments with everyone.

I decided to make this decision immediately when one of my regular readers, a lady who buys each and every book I release, didn't know about Dark Promises until it had been out for two months. Eek! That was the quencher!
