And the winner is...

Good morning, all. How was your Valentine's Day? I hope it was pleasant. The kids and I ended up making homemade lasagna roll ups, salads, and freshly made breadsticks. Everyone enjoyed it and the girls got to help out.

I guess you're all waiting to see who the big winner of yesterday's giveaway was. Between Facebook, Twitter, and both blogs, there were a lot more entries than I expected. Making me a very happy giveaway host! :)

My 7 year old made a pile of paper hearts. We wrote all the names on them and folded them small. I placed them into a red, glass vase before giving them a good stir. Then I allowed her to draw out the winner. To which she exclaimed, "It's a boy!" LOL!

And the winner is. . .

Congratulations, Steve! Please e-mail me at authorchristiesilvers@gmail.com with your mailing address and I'll get your goodies right out. I hope you enjoy. :)

All righty, I'm off to do some housework and play with my kids. They're out of school this week for a "Mid-Winter Break" and think I should be readily available to them whenever they're here. Sheesh! Kids! LOL.

Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Valentine's Day! Here's a goodie for you.

Here we are again. Another year has passed and we're back to Valentine's Day. I hope you're spending the day with the person/people you love most in the world.

I know many of you joined in on yesterday's multi-author pre-Valentine's Day giveaway on Robin Renee Ray's blog. There were lots of freebies given away and a lot of fun to be had by all.

However, today I'm doing a giveaway all my own. One lucky person will win the collection of goodies listed below.

1 - Step Into Sexy Clutch
1 - Step Into Sexy Eau De Toilette Rollette
1 - Step Into Sexy Eau De Parfum Spray
1 - Step Into Sexy Luminous Body Moisturizer
1 - Autographed Paperback Copy of Time for Death (Liz Baker, book 1)

All of these goodies are yours if your name is drawn at the end of the day. How do you get your name into the drawing? It's really quite easy. If you helped spread the word on Facebook about yesterday's giveaway you already have a head start. For the rest of you and those of you who want more entries, here's how:

1 entry -- Comment here telling me your Valentine's Day plans.
1 entry -- Share on Twitter.
1 entry -- Share on Facebook.

Each person can rack up 3 entries today, and if you shared yesterday you have 1 extra, for a total of 4 entries per person. If you share on Twitter or Facebook be sure to let me know.

It really is that easy. I'm not the type to make you stand on your head, singing the Star-Spangled Banner, and shucking corn with your toes. Though, I must say, that would be quite the sight. LOL!

Let the festivities begin! Get to sharing and commenting. I'll draw a name at the end of the day and inform the winner first thing on the 15th. :) Good luck!

*Avon is not affiliated with this giveaway in any way, shape, or form. This just so happens to be what I have on hand to give away on Valentine's Day*

Not as busy as expected.

Good morning everyone! Time for another Wednesday around here. The week is going by at a fairly decent speed this week. Monday and Tuesday were very busy, and today was expected to be busy as well. Our oldest daughter was suppose to have a Quiz Bowl meet this evening, making it a late night, but she decided that she didn't want to go... So we're not.

I'm all for the kids having extracurricular activities, but I'm not about to force them into something they don't want to do. I don't think it's right, and I won't be one of those parents. I like them to try new things, see how they like them, and then decide if it's something they want to keep doing. She loves her Reading Bowl, but Quiz Bowl doesn't appear to be her forte. We'll see.

Anyway, today was expected to be a busy day, but now I don't have to worry about it. I've spent the morning filling out paperwork and chatting with Tim. We bought groceries yesterday, so I washed all the produce, grated block cheese, cut up veggies, put everything into easy-to-grab containers, and finally separated bulk ground beef and boneless, skinless chicken breasts for future meals. It makes for a much more organized refrigerator when everything is ready for use. It also makes meal preparations faster.

I do need to go pay the power bill when I pick the kids up from school and visit with my grandmother. Other than that, I have no other household chores to tend to. We've already planned to make tacos for dinner this evening, as well. A pretty organized day!

Now if I could understand why it's so darn difficult to find a few minutes of peace and quiet when I want to write. Thinking I'll plug my ears with the mp3 player and pretend that I can't hear questions like, "What are you doing?" "What are you working on?" "Can you hear me?" "Come look at this!" "Wow! Did you see that kill?" (<--- Tim playing his new BioShock 2 game) and numerous other inquiries.

Who am I kidding? It'll never work. The 5yr old will just walk right up, stand in front of me and wave her hands in my face until I pull the earbuds out and demand to know what exactly she wants. So much for having a househusband so I could work over the last 6 months. LOL!

On the upside, Tim has agree that I will be using some cash from our tax refund to top off my Amazon gift card savings and buy my Kindle! Yay! Happy Valentine's Day to me!! Ohhhhhh, AND he spoke with the mechanic yesterday and it looks like my van doesn't need a new motor, but a radiator and a slew of little things that need to be fixed. I *should* be getting my van back after we get back from our camping trip next week. I'm super excited about both items of business! :-)

I can't wait to see my books on my new Kindle. Sure, I have my own editions sitting on my bookshelf, and of course I have the computer files stored away on my flashdrive, but I'll also have them in my Kindle... just to have them and see how they look. LOL. :-)

Okay, I better go. The youngest is asking for lunch and my cinnamon-raisin bagel has already left my stomach, so I guess it's lunchtime. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Wanna Know Wednesday #52: The last one.

Happy Hump Day!  We're all just a little bit closer to the weekend today.  I certainly didn't want to crawl out of bed this morning, but once I did the day start smoothly.  Hopefully it'll keep going smoothly.

I finally got to file my income tax return on Monday.  I got Federal acceptance that night & state acceptance last night.  Now the countdown to my direct deposit begins.  I'd love to be able to just put it all into the savings account, but with the van repairs and paying off the oldest daughter's braces... well, that's just not gonna happen.  But hey, at least I'll have her monthly braces payment out of the way.  Woohoo!

Okay, it has been a year of Wanna Know Wednesdays and today's the very last one.  I had no idea what the topic would be about when I started the entry, but now that I'm working on it I've decided to make it.............

My Top 10 Hopes for 2010
  1. Tim finds a new job.
  2. My van gets fixed.
  3. The kids stay happy & healthy.
  4. A new book contract. *Fingers Crossed*
  5. New livingroom carpet.
  6. Time alone with my honey whenever possible.
  7. To lose 30 more lbs.
  8. Less stress and more fun.
  9. To fix my washed away driveway. Living on a hill isn't always a good thing.
  10. To get more writing done. At least one more Liz Baker novel.  :-)
So there.  You see a few of my yearly goals.  Some are easier done than others, but I'm still hoping for all of them.  Once spring hits, I'm planning to visit the flea markets and yard sales in search of a simple writing desk to refinish and put in my bedroom.  That way I can lock myself away to work.  Right now our only desk is in the diningroom and occupied by the desktop computer, printer, and all other computing accessories.

My bedroom has a master bathroom, so I'd only have to unlock the door to get eats & drinks.  LOL.  I already warned Tim about my future absence, too.

Speaking of writing work, here are my newest articles.  Since it's February, they are Valentine's Day topics.

All righty, it's time for me to get out of here.  See you tomorrow!

A Day of Love

Happy Valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day!!! I hope that all you lovers out there are having the best day ever. We're having a good time just being together and taking it easy this weekend. We went away last weekend for a romantic weekend away. It was a blast!

My author friend Paige Tyler posted a wonderful Thursday Thirteen the other day pertaining to this day of love. My only problem is, what about those of us who already do all of those during the entire year?? *giggle*

Roses are red

Today was a normal Friday around here. Tim's off on Fridays so I got to wake up next to him, even though it was still to the sound of our hated alarm clock. Better than waking up alone because he's already left for work.

We took the big girls to school and then went off to buy groceries for next week. Tim bought me roses for Valentine's Day while we were out. He always buys me roses, and I love it. I had to run by the bank and then back home we came. We had breakfast and lunch together before I had to go pick the big girls up from school.

Tim played his Xbox and texted with me while I waited around at school for the kids. The youngest wanted to stay home with her daddy while I was at school, so he played with her too. She's definitely a daddy's girl. Of course, they're all daddy's girls, but the older two have more in their lives than daddy. LOL!

I brought the kids home and then sent all three outside to play since it's warm enough here in Georgia. Once the girls' fun started outside, Tim & I locked the bedroom door and had some fun inside. ;-)

We were hoping that the girls would be going to the in-laws' house tonight, but MIL is sick, so that's a no go. Oh well, we still manage to find moments alone. Then when bedtime comes it's game on! LOL!

I'm making homemade pizza for us tonight. Tim loves my pizza better than any restaurant... or though he says. LOL.

So see? Even I have some fairly normal days around here. You probably can't tell from all the craziness that usually ensues for me. We're always doing something, but on occasion we do get a peaceful day. Today was one of those easy days. Hopefully the next two days will be just as peaceful. We don't have any plans, nothing that NEEDS to be done right now, no appointments, nothing planned except spending time home.

I hope you all have a peaceful weekend. Enjoy Valentine's Day with the one you love!!

Wanna Know Wednesday...

I've decided to go with a theme on Wednesdays. Many people do Wordless Wednesdays, but I talk too much to just post a picture and nothing more. LOL! Soooo, I'm going to do a Wanna Know Wednesday.

If you want to know something about me just ask. But until then I'll just go through and post random facts that you may or may not wanna know about me. Basically me just rambling like I always do. LOL!

Since it's the week of Valentine's Day, today's theme will be 10 things about my relationship with the hubby. ;-)

1. We met in June 1993.
2. He proposed to me in his pickup truck under a star-filled sky.
3. We married a mere 10 months later in April 1994.
4. We were both 17 years old when we married (he turned 18 ten days later).
5. He is the love of my life & tells me daily that I am his.
6. He regrets the "relationships" he had before us. Though we agree that they led him to me.
7. We don't need a holiday to show one another how we feel.
8. I can't get enough of him. We're always touching each other, even after all these years.
9. We have similar taste in music now, even though we were opposites when we were dating.
10. We recently redecorated our bedroom in reds and blacks (it's awesome!).

I could keep going on and on, but I'll stop at ten. Now, if anyone wants to know anything specific feel free to ask away. Or you can email me at christie@christiesilvers.com

Now, since I'm already jabbering on here...

They did in fact arrive yesterday! Yay!

They look soooo good! I sent Tim several picture texts while he was at work and he loved them. One message mentioned something to the point of wishing he was home so he could see them in person with nothing else on (only not phrased as kid-friendly as that). LMAO! He definitely had quite the manly reaction to my smokin' hot shoes.

Overlook the less than perfect photo quality as it was taken with my cell phone by my 8 yr old daughter. LOL!

Anyway, I love my new shoes and today am waiting on two Infinite dresses to arrive via the USPS. I got a red one and a black one the other week. I'll be stylin' for quite some time to come. I haven't bought new goodies like these in a very long time. It's fun!

Now if you want me to talk about the new nurses costume we picked up last week... Well....

Until next time my friends!

Contest Suggestions Needed

I'll have a contest coming up in February with CoffeeTimeRomance.com and I'm wondering what kinds of goodies you'd like to see me give away?

Since it will probably be a Valentine's Day themed contest, I'm thinking *lovey* stuff. Maybe a goodie basket like lotions, candles, sweet smelling stuff, and maybe a copy of A Midnight Infatuation. Then again, maybe I could go for a chocolate theme with candies, edible body paints, etc. Hmmm.....

I'm open to suggestions from my wonderful readers. :-)

You can post them here in the comments section, or email me at christie@christiesilvers.com .
