Manic Monday. Oh wait, it's Tuesday!

Gosh, it's only Tuesday. Blah! I'm downright tired this morning. January has been a terribly busy month here at the Silvers household. We've had birthdays, parties, visits to Chuck E Cheese, sleepovers, dentist appointments, and just the personal time together. I'm exhausted.

Yesterday our oldest daughter got braces. Well, technically she got the top braces. She goes back in 10 weeks for the bottoms. She did very well yesterday and looks cute with her braces, but I sure did hate writing that $800 upfront payment check to the orthodontist. LOL! In only 24 monthly payments she'll have the most gorgeous, straight teeth. :-)

Then of course it'll be the middle daughter's turn.

We'll be paying the ortho for the next six years if all three girls go one right after the other. I *might* get a break between the second and third child, but we'll see. That's genetics for ya! Tim & I both had braces. Hell, I still had mine on when we married nearly 15 years ago.

However, all of that isn't the cause of my exhaustion this morning. Tim and I have enjoyed a lot of alone time together lately. Not always doing what's going through your head at the moment. LOL!! We were up 'til after midnight last night and the last hour was just chit-chatting in the darkness. He had to get up at 5:30 this morning and I at 6:00. He's already informed me via text message this morning that he's tired. LOL! Poor guy. At least I can stay home for my job.

I'll be glad when this month is over. We usually try to take a weekend trip with the kids some time in February. I'm sooooo ready for that this year. I'll have to check to see what week the kids have off for "mid-winter break".

Okay, I'm just rambling now. Here's a pic from our oldest yesterday, before I forget, and I'm off. Have a fabulous Tuesday, if you aren't too tired to enjoy it! And if you are too tired, I hope that your tiredness is at least from doing something fun. ;-)

Thursdays are great days!

There's just something about Thursday. The week isn't quite over, but it's over enough to shout, "Yay, it's Thursday!" I like Thursdays. Tomorrow is Friday--my busy errands day--and the day I get to spend with the hubby.

Tim use to work what's called "Four Tens". Meaning he worked four days a week for ten hours a day. He was always off on Fridays and we'd have the best time. We would only have the youngest with us, so we could easily run my weekly errands and then go out for lunch together. We'd spend all day together. It was nice.

Then his work decided to change them all back to five day a week and we lost our Fridays together, basically alone (yes, when you have 3 kids and only 1 is home, you are basically alone. LOL).

NOW..... his work changed them back to four tens!! Tomorrow is his first Friday off. Woohoo! I don't know if it'll last, but I'm definitely going to enjoy our time while we have it.

Hmmm, once the four year old goes to school in August 2010, I may not get anything done on Fridays if Tim's home. We may not even leave the house! *wink, wink* LOL! I can't believe it's almost time to think about my days without any children home. That's just a fantastical scenario to consider... yet it's just around the proverbial corner, isn't it? Wow!

On a different note, thank you to all who voted on A Twilight Abduction yesterday. I hope that you'll pass it on if you know anyone who'd like to vote. I appreciate all the comments, emails, and shows of support from everyone. I know I can always count on a wonderful group of friends, family, and fans to help a gal out. :-)

Alright, I guess I better go. I heard the dryer stop and my warm, soft, cozy Egyptian Cotton sheets are calling my name. Too bad it's only to put them back on the bed instead of climbing between them for the rest of the day. LOL!

Have a beautiful Thursday!

It's a snow day

The girls are out of school again today. We ended up with like an inch of snow here north Georgia and that's a lot for here. LOL! School was cancelled and the girls have alrady spent the morning outside. They all came in with bright red cheeks, running noses, and frozen fingertips.

I didn't mind not having to get up early this morning. I knew that the snow would occupy the girls' attention today, and therefore keeping them out of my hair for a while. Right now the oldest is reading a book and the yonger two are making hot chocolate. I'm posting this blog entry and watching/listening to a movie called "Meet Bill."

My new Verizon phones will be arriving via Fedex sometime today. Hopefully the Fedex guy will show up soon so I don't have to wait around all day for him. I always have he same guy each time and he's been out here a lot in the last month... especially when I was dealing with my laptop being sent for repairs. He's a super nice guy and looks pretty young. Always so polite and soft spoken.

Anyway, that's my ramblings for today. Here are some snow pictures from this morning. :-)

I live in the woods. :-)

This is the snow angel that my 8 year old daughter decided to make on the front deck. LOL!

How's it going today?

Welcome to yet another Monday. The month of January is nearly over already.

The kids are out of school today for MLK Day. They've been playing and fighting and getting on my nerves, but it was nice to get to sleep in for an extra day. We had some snow flurries while they were outside and excitement was abound. LOL!

I've just been hanging out, cleaning house, and dealing with stuff here. No writing has been done because the kids are home and always interrupting me in midstream. So, nothing too excited around here.

The hubby is all excited because I gave in to his whines and begging for us to switch our cell phone service from AT&T over to Verizon. His friend has Verizon and he loves it. His friend has Unlimited text. He'll be able to call me and his friend for free since we'd all have Verizon. Blah, Blah, Blah. LOL!

So I gave in and we have new phones and service from Verizon coming via Fedex tomorrow sometime. Since my AT&T phone just refilled over the weekend, I'll be carrying around two phones for the next month. Damn! LOL. I'll have to call and cancel the hubby's AT&T plan tomorrow before it refills on Thursday. Here's hoping that Verizon is better than AT&T to cover the extra $30 a month we'll be paying out for Unlimited text. LOL! That man and his texting.... sheesh!

Okay, that's all that the children are going to tolerate me doing some actual writing. I'm off to deal with lunch and maybe hand write some stuff in my writing notebook when they aren't looking. LOL!

Have a great day!

It's my birthday!

Yep, that's right. Today is my 32nd birthday. And to my surprise, it's been a really good day.

Tim and the girls were in a good mood today. He's been all lovey dovey today, even though he was running around repeating "You're 32" over and over. LOL!

We went out to have a late lunch at our favorite BBQ place. Then we did a little shopping. And now we're home ready to watch some movies and have a peaceful night. It was flurrying a little when we came home, but I think that's already stopped.

Tomorrow we're suppose to head to Chuck E Cheese for the girls. Should be fun!

So anyway, Happy Birthday to me! Thank you to all of you who've sent me birthday wishes via email and/or on MySpace or Facebook. I greatly appreciate your love, comments, and thoughts.

Have a great weekend all!

Today's the last day...

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but if you haven't already voted in the Preditors & Editors Reader's Poll I would greatly appreciate you doing so. Today is the last day! A huge thank you to everyone who has voted for me and/or the cover of A Twilight Abduction. I am forever grateful. :-)

It has been screamingly cold here in Georgia this week. I think they said it would be like 10 degrees in the morning. Eek! That's just too darn cold for me. I wish I could stay curled up in my warm bed with the covers pulled up to my chin all day tomorrow. Brrrr!

I'd much rather be sitting on a warm beach listening to the waves and happy children splashing around.

Tomorrow is my baby girls 4th birthday. We had her family prty this past Sunday so she's not quite understanding how tomorrow is her birthday too. LOL. Then this coming weekend we are going to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate her birthday as well. She loves that place, but the closest one to us is in Chattanooga,TN. So we don't go often. She's very excited.

Speaking of birthdays, mine is Saturday the 17th. Who's sending me a gift?? Hmmm? I like Amazon gift cards if anyone's wondering! LOL!

I haven't decided what I'll be doing to celebrate my 32nd year of life. I was considering an hour massage. I've never had a professional massage before, and the thought of not having to hear that their hands ache after ten minutes is VERY appealing. LOL.

Then I decided that no matter what else I do, Tim and I are going to see the new Underworld movie on the 23rd. I already have Nana set up to take the girls that night too. Yay me!

Who knows what'll happen. Either way, I know I'm another year older and not happy about it. However, I've noticed that with each passing year my life gets more fun, exciting, and enjoyable. Maybe I'll be in ecstasy when I'm 40!! LMAO!

Okay, I'm off to clean a dog crate, and being thrown back into reality after working with Liz battling a vampire all day. Yes, Time For Death is coming along. Though I'm making changes every time I work on it. Maybe it'll be done before Spring arrives.

Have a great Hump Day!

It's almost over...

Good morning. It's another brand new week, filled with opportunities for brand new experiences. I hope it's a great week!

There are only 2 days left for the voting on Preditors & Editors. The last time I checked I was in 3rd place in the author's poll and the cover of A Twilight Abduction was tied for 14th. Ack! Come on my dear readers, go vote if you haven't already. Time is running out. :-)

Here's the entry I posted about this last week....

I've been nominated on the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll again this year. Last year I finished 7th, so lets see if we can do better than that this year!Just click on the link and scroll down to my name. Click the circle beside my name, then go to the bottom to fill in your information and vote. Be sure to use a legit email addy as they'll send a confirmation email to make sure the vote counts.

(Apparently, A Twilight Abduction has been nominated twice on this page. However, I'd suggest only voting for the one that is written correctly with capital letters since that one was there first and would have the most votes.)

Thanks so much everyone!

This weekend was filled with trials for my household. On Friday the baby ended up suddenly sick with a fever. She was sick all weekend. Sunday we had an early family birthday party for her. Luckily the fever left her alone for that, though she still wasn't feeling well. Poor baby.

Then Saturday Tim worked on the van all day. He had to change the belt and the tensioner. Took him several hours and lots of stomping back and forth between his tool box and the van. LOL! He did eventually complete his task and now the van is running better than expected for a vehicle with over 180K miles on it. LOL!

I'm so glad that it's Monday. I was definitely ready to start fresh again. This morning I had all my chores done before 8:30am and am just about to start my writing for today. Here's hoping that my phone doesn't start that ringing mess like last week. It never stopped last week. Every time I'd get into a good writing groove it would ring and jar me out of my thoughts. Blah!

Okay, I'm off to work. Please go vote if you haven't already. I'd greatly appreciate it. :-)

I'm a Dragon

So I was over on Tarot.com enjoying all of the yummy horoscope stuff that I like to read. My birthday is coming up in only 9 days, so I like to check up on my tarot card readings from time to time.

My Chinese sign is The Dragon & here's what it says about us Dragons (and I must say that it suits me to a tee)....

The Dragon believes she is the ruler of the world. Self confident, very intelligent and talented -- most everything a Dragon attempts turns out great. Even when Dragons fail, they are rarely blamed, as their inspiration and enthusiasm evoke love and admiration. A Dragon's view of other people is not always the best, however. The Dragon can lack patience and be intolerant of the opinions of others if they don't agree with hers.

Dragons have a will and mind of their own. They can be eccentric, but are always passionate and stand true to their own beliefs. They have strong personalities, driven by their love for inspiring others and for creating positive changes for humanity. Dragons focus on fulfilling their dreams in harmony, receiving recognition for their contributions and wealth for their whole life. The Dragon is the bringer of good luck -- having a Dragon as a friend will create great luck for you.

Spotlighted on Author Robin Renee Ray's blog.

Yesterday I spoke about a little article/interview I did for an author friend. I promised to link to it as soon as she had it posted. Here it is!

I had fun doing this and hope you'll stop by to check it out.

Well, after days and days of rain, it finally stopped. Yay! I drive an older minivan and it makes me nervous to be running around in flooding streets. No matter how much the hubby works on it, the belt on that van will pop off if I hit a puddle of water. Leaving me stranded where ever I am. It did this back in 2004 and Tim fixed it. Now it's back to doing it again. Blah!

I told him yesterday that it's time to start thinking about getting something else. I alway buy used and always keep my vehicles until they make me feel unsafe driving me and the kids around in it. It's that time.

I was thinking about going back to having a car, but then I really do like the space that the minivan offers with all three kids. I'll probably just go with another van, but one of these days I'll be able to go back to a little car for just me. That'll be nice. LOL.

At this moment I'm watching "Ghost Town". It seems okay, but not overly funny. Maybe it'll pick up. Once it goes off I'll be getting to work on my writing. Then this afternoon I have to take all three girls for their 6 month dental checkup. Tomorrow I have my yearly eye exam (2 months over due). Then over the weekend I'll be hosting my youngest daughter's 4th birthday party. So much to do, so little time!

Have a great day everyone!

Newsletter tomorrow & website update

Just a reminder:

This month's newsletter will go out tomorrow. Now's the time to sign up if you aren't already! http://www.mailermailer.com/x?oid=1003219z

I spent a while this morning working on website updates. I changed some pages around, added a new page, and added the links to the Preditors & Editors Reader's Poll of which I and the cover for A Twilight Abduction have been nominated. I hope that you'll pop over and check out the updates when you have a chance. http://www.christiesilvers.com/

Now on to some personal ramblings. The girls went back to school today! YAY! I can't believe how much more productive I am when they aren't home. I got so much done today that I'm really feeling good about myself.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to be just as productive AND take the girls for their 6 month dental checkup in the afternoon. Thursday I have my yearly eye exam scheduled (2 months late). It'll be a busy week, that's for sure.

Today I wrote an article about my Alex & Fiona series that was requested by another author who wants to spotlight them on her own blog. She's such a doll and as soon as she gets the entry up I'll link it for you guys to check out.

I guess that's all for today. Time for me to go start dinner. Tim will be home soon and expect me to fill his tummy so he can plop down in front of his Xbox to play until bedtime. LOL! So off I go...

Have a good night!

It's a brand new week. About time!

Ahhh, it's Monday again. I'm so glad that this week has finally arrived. The holidays are over and schedules are getting back to normal. However, for us that will happen tomorrow. The girls head back to school first thing in the morning and I'll be back in my working comfort zone. YAY!

I've waited for this week for the last two weeks. LOL!

I finished putting away the rest of the Christmas stuff this morning, and even cleaned out my bedroom closet in the process. Empty boxes were put away, laundry has been started, the house is being cleaned... and all in anticipation of me FINALLY being able to get back to the work I love. Not only that, but hopefully the three year old will finally calm her mood back down to its normal level without her sisters here to annoy her.

Why, oh why, did the school decide to not go back until Tuesday? Why not today like all the normal schools and jobs? Now don't get me wrong, I do absolutely love being able to sleep late. However, sleep is overrated when it comes down to actually getting my work done in peace and quiet.

So here I am, just waiting for tomorrow to arrive, and looking forward to getting the time to write. How I miss you so, my dear written word! LOL.

Now I'm off to put the 3yr old's nose in the corner because she loves to tell me "NO!" these days. Oh joy. Fun all around!
