Reviews Round Up!

As most of you know, I was doing a blog tour last month for the Liz Baker series, with focus on book 1, Time for Death.  During those three weeks the book received several new reviews.  So I thought I'd compile a few and share them with you.

"Liz is the type of heroine you just love. She is smart, sassy, strong, and stubborn. ...  I could see myself going to the bar and hanging out with Liz and Rick. Marcus is the kind of vampire you love to hate. ... twists and turns that had me staying up late into the night.."  Sabrina at Paranormal Reads {Read More}

"What a great read, Time For Death is (definitely) not your everyday vampire book and that is one of the reasons I liked it so much. There are some great twists and turns that will leave you wanting more."  Starry Night Book Reviews {Read More}

"One of the very best things about Christie’s writing is that she knows how to tell a story and how to create a series. By the time I finished TIME FOR DEATH, I wanted to be Liz and have all the wonderful people in my life that were sharing hers, and maybe even a Marcus of my own."  Ponderings by Lucinda Gunnin {Read More}

"Liz Baker is a great character, she is honest and strong, and has a filthy mouth. lol. I liked it that Liz had a potty mouth, it showed her character perfectly and also showed us that Christie Silvers does not hold back with her writing."  Jennifer Malone Wright {Read More}

These are just a few of the reviews received over the last month and a half.  However, that's only a teeny tiny portion of the books out there with readers.  If you're a reader, and you've read Time for Death, here's your chance to get book 2 for free.

When Time for Death receives 50 reviews on Amazon I'll put Kill Me Next Week (book 2) on sale for FREE!  And if you haven't read Time for Death yet, what are you waiting for?  It's only $0.99, everyday, on Amazon and B&N. Go grab you copy and get to it.  :)

Pick That Drink Contest

Who would like to win an e-copy of Time for Death (Liz Baker, book 1) and have their name immortalized in my next Liz Baker book?  How might you accomplish this?  Well, it's quite easy, actually.

Starting tomorrow, for the next seven days, I'll be taking entries via drink ideas in the comments section of this blog post.  Simply comment below with your idea on what the first drink served in book 4 should be.

As we know, Liz Baker is the owner and bartender of her small town bar Athena's Ambrosia.  She serves anything and everything her patrons ask for.  Most of the country guys just want a Budweiser, but there are the occasional orders for Strawberry Daquaris and Fuzzy Nipples.  You just never know what someone will want.

Well.... now you CAN know what the first drink served will be.

The winner will be drawn via Random.org to receive an e-copy of Time for Death and have their name included on the Acknowledgements page of book 4.

Date(s): July 15th - July 21st
How:  Comment below.
What:  Post your suggestion for the first drink served in book 4.
When: Winner will be drawn & announced on July 22nd.
Goodies: Winner receives e-copy of Time for Death & their name in book 4.

Vacation? Was that vacation?

I made it.  I'm home from a week vacation.  Now I'm wondering if that was a vacation after all.  Why is it we come home more exhausted than before we left?  Eek!

We had a great time.  Loads of tanning, swimming, bike riding, walking trails, and a little bit of relaxing.  I was hoping for a whole lot more relaxing, but what can you do when you have kids and a husband who think vacation means go-go-go?

I did manage to click a good many nature pictures to inspire me for the next Liz Baker book, which I'm anxious to jump into ASAP.

Before we'd even started vacation--I hadn't even checked us into the campground yet--I twisted my left foot and ankle, went down on my right knee, and set the entire mood for my week.  Ouch!  It's been over a week and I'm still healing from that mishap.  I hobbled around all week, but didn't let it stop me, and I have a nice tan to prove it!  :D

As much fun as we had, I was extremely glad to make it home Saturday afternoon.  I spent the rest of that day and Sunday doing laundry. A week of no washer with five people = OMG look at that laundry!!

Now that I've recovered from vacation I'm looking forward to getting back to work, getting the kids prepared for a new school year, and going to New Orleans for the Undead Con and Anne Rice Wolf Gift Ball.  Woohoo!  :)
