Ready to start the Liz Baker series? Book 1 is FREE!

Happy Friday, readers! I hope you're all doing well in this crazy, unstable world we're living in. I'm still at home for a few more days. I'll head back to the day job next week after almost three months quarantined in preparation of the arrival of our grandson. Now that he's two weeks old (in two days), it's time to get back to business. Plus my work people are missing me! :D

In the meantime, I'm working on the 8th book in the Liz Baker series, newsletters, blog posts, social media updates, and even doing some work with my life coaching clients. All of that is, of course, aside from my baby cuddling duties as new Gammie on the block!

With all that said, I wanted to share that I have put Time for Death (Liz Baker, bk 1) up for free download during the summer. I don't know how long I'll let this go on, but for the time being I don't have a date to stop it. I guess we'll see how many downloads it gets before I decide on a stopping point. So, if you haven't started the series now is definitely the time to do so.

Just click the image above and it'll take you straight to the book's page. I've been trying out BookFunnel for book downloads the last few weeks and I'm liking it a lot. I've seen tons of other authors use it, and have downloaded books from it in the past, so it was only logical to try it out for myself.

I hope you'll take advantage and try out this series. Liz has a bit of a wild side, and sometimes I just wanna smack her good on the back of the head! Be warned: Adult Language & Adult Content run rampant in this series (and all my books). I don't want anyone grasping pearls saying they weren't informed.

I hope you're all safe and healthy in these trying times. Much love to all my readers out there worldwide!

Part time job

Well, it happened. I broke down and got a part time job. It's been 20 years since I held a public job, so this will be a new experience for me. I was 6 months pregnant with our first daughter when I left the public workforce, and she's 20 now! Eek! I've never worked a job with kids at home. I'm grateful that they're so old now, with my youngest being 12. It definitely makes the decision easier on me.

With my husband's job change back in November, and the loss of income because of his pay decrease, I figured it was time to pick up something more reliable than just book royalties (which all authors know are not reliable at all). And this job seemed like something right up my alley. I'll be cashier/shopkeeper of an herbal health shop. They offer all sorts of services like massage, plus the normal vitamins, essential oils, and food additives. I interviewed for it on the 23rd and was asked to come in and get the lay of the land for a couple of hours on the 31st. This week is my first full week of work.

As you're reading this, I'm at work (thank goodness for blog scheduling!) and probably enjoying my new job as I'm learning all about what's sold here. I've always enjoyed the herbal and natural remedies stuff, but there's soooooo much to learn I'm feeling a little overwhelmed... but in a good way. I'll get it and it'll be fun to learn new things. In the meantime, I'll be able to do some people watching and (hopefully) come up with new story lines in the process.

Though I'll be working outside the home, I'm still on schedule for the release of Sorrow Meets Death. It's planned for June and I intend to make the deadline. Unlike previously, when I only worked on week days and took the weekends off, now I'll be doing the majority of my writing on the weekends and weekday evenings. It'll be a massive adjustment. Well, all of this will be a massive adjustment. Every one's schedules will have to change and adjust just to accommodate Mom's new job.

Fingers crossed. Wish me luck. Think happy thoughts. And, finally, thanks for all your support! :)

Where to post reviews.

I recently received an e-mail from one of my "#1 fans" asking where I'd like her to leave a review for Dark Promises, so I thought it would be a good time to blog about it. :)

I have three favorite places for book reviews/ratings. I always read the reviews left on these three sites, as I frequent them often for my personal reading list.

Now, these aren't the only places for readers to share what they thought of a book, but they are my faves. :)

Happy release day!

Amazon -- Kindle edition --  Autographed copies --  Excerpt

Time For Death
has been born!  Welcome to the birthday of a brand new book series.  I'm so proud and overjoyed.  :-)  I have a lot to share with you this morning.

First off, the Release Day Celebration has begun with the first reader review.  I was happy to receive an e-mail late last night from a pre-orderer (is that even a word?) letting me know that she LOVED the book and can't wait for book 2.  I thanked her, and we discussed the ending a bit (no, I won't tell you), before she popped over to the Facebook Fan Page to leave a little note.  I'm thrilled to hear from her, and as a reader who has read all of my books, I hope to hear from her in the future.

I greatly enjoy when readers want to talk about actual events in the books.  It means people are reading and thinking about what I've written.  I especially enjoy the statements of love for the characters.  It's really all about them in the end.  :-)

One other thing that jump started the celebration today was when I checked the Amazon rankings and found that the Kindle edition is already selling.  Yay!  I don't know who ordered, or when, but I hope you enjoy it.
As I've mentioned numerous times, the Author Chat will be tonight at 9pm EST.  I always plan for at least 1 hour, but we tend to still be chatting up a storm when that tie arrives.  The chatroom link has been added to the website, and here it is for the blog.  Release Day Author Chat &Giveaway  I hope to see you there!

Remember, by making an appearance at the chat you'll gain another entry in the goodie bag giveaway.  There is only 1 person who has already collected all 4 of the previous ways to enter and she plans to try to pop in at the chat for her 5th entry.  However, keep in mind that someone with only 1 entry can have their name drawn just as well as someone with 5 entries--though the more entries, the better chance.

Next up, I was surprised the other day with an article by M.J. Joachim.  I didn't even know she was going to write about me.  Stop by and check it out.  :-) "Christie Silvers, Author of Vampire Books"

Now, as a side note, and before I go, today is the last day to receive free shipping on any of the Alex & Fiona books.  Stop by the Contests, Giveaways, Discounts page for details.

I think that's it.  That's enough though, isn't it?  LOL.  I'm off to take care of some domestic responsibilities before tonight.  Have a great day and I hope to see you at the chat.

The first look at Time For Death.

Click to see a larger version of the cover.
Good morning everyone!  Happy St. Patrick's Day.  Are you wearing your green?  It's the middle of the week and I have a goodie to show you.

<--------------  Isn't it lovely?!  Click on cover to see it larger.

I think it realy symbolizes the turmoil Liz is going through during the story.  The monstrous, swirling storm clouds as red as blood, along with the darkened cabin make 100% sense when you read the story.

I received my proof copy of Time For Death yesterday.  I've been expecting it, and even though I have the computer file of the cover, I wanted to wait until I saw it in print, in my hands, to make sure it looked as good in reality as it does on the computer screen.  That's why I planned this blog entry for today instead of Monday.
With this approval of the cover, Time For Death is just one step closer to its April 30th release date.  The biggest excitement to come will be when the book gets its listing page on Amazon.  That tends to take several weeks because Amazon only updates book information once or twice a month.  Now we just wait.

I have added a Pre-Order option to the website.  All pre-ordered books will be shipped before the April 30th release date.  How's that for an incentive to pre-order?  LOL.

Now, before I go for today I want to introduce you to the newest members of our family.  Our outside dog, who we adopted as a stray when she was a teeny little puppy over 3yrs ago, just surprised us with four little rats.....

There are three dark brown ones and a single white with brown patches.  Fudge (our girl dog) is quite protective of her new babies and we've respected her privacy... other than a once a day check on them all with praise, petting and treats for the mommy.

And here's the mommy when we brought her home.

Awww, that was so long ago.  She's a big dog now.  :-)

Okay, that's it from me today.  Be sure to come back tomorrow when I discuss Kill Me Next Week.  What'll happen with Liz in book 2?

Friday Run Around

Good Friday morning!  I'm so glad it's Friday.  I've been looking forward to the weekend.  Next Monday the kids are even out of school, so we get to sleep late for 3 days this weekend.  Yay!

Today Tim and I have to do our Friday run around.  We have errands (read: groceries, groceries, groceries) to run.  I've finally convinced Tim that my weekly errand day works out so much better than him wanting to go to town 4x a week.  My way has been working (and saving gas) for all these years.  I must be doing something right.  LOL!

Today I have only 2 more chapters to edit.  Woohoo!!  Then this evening I'll start finishing off the ending and then VOILA!  I'll print it all out again so I can just sit back and read it.  Yay me!!  I love it!  I think Tim's even happy for me to get this one finished, and not complaining about having time to finish it.  LOL.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll have some good reviews from my test readers to share with you.  Then it'll be time for NaNoWriMo... and the next book.  I'm calling this series the Liz Baker saga.  We'll see how that goes.  LOL.

Okay, I'm off for the day.  I hope you enjoy your Friday and have a fantastic weekend.
