Happy Friday!

This has been a crazy, long week for our household. My youngest daughter FINALLY went back to school on Tuesday. She is in 10th grade and was 4 days shy of being home for 6 months. Needless to say, she has been bored out of her teenage mind, and missing all her friends, so she's actually very glad to be back in school.

I'm home from the day job yet again. The economy is hitting the herbal & supplement shop HARD, but I have plenty to work on from home.

On the writing front, I am still working on the 8th book in the Liz Baker series, working on a short story prequel in the same series, and joining a few promotions with other authors. Check out the bundle of freebies below.

It's date night in the Silvers Household.

Happy Friday everyone!  Today will be a fantastic day, I'll be my happy-go-lucky self (gotta make up for yesterday), and Tim is taking me out tonight.  Woohoo!

It's Mom's night to have the kids; I'll be taking them to her when the oldest gets home from school.  Then Tim and I will be heading to Chattanooga for an evening out.  First we'll have dinner at Famous Dave's (a yummy BBQ place we like) and then we'll go over to Hamilton Place Mall for some Christmas shopping that I can't get done down here.  I need to hit Barnes & Noble up there since all of our bookstores appear to have closed down here.

I'm getting the older girls brand new journals for Christmas and I can't find any good ones here.  I didn't see any I liked on Amazon either, but the B&N website shows a lot of pretty ones.  So we'll do that.  And afterwards we'll come home to watch some Netflix movies, enjoy the peace and quiet, and enjoy each other... tremendously!  ;-)

This morning however, I have lots of writing to do, since I'm way behind on my NaNo word count... still.  I have no doubt that I'll finish (I'm not a quitter), but it'll be a rush to the end in those last few days.  I'll be sequestered in my bedroom with death threats to anyone who dares to knock.  Seriously, there will be dire consequences in those last few days.  Fear of bodily harm will be practiced by all.  LOL!

Tim knows how I am when I'm on a deadline and I'm rushing to meet it.  This isn't his first rodeo with me.  He can't leave me alone up to those last days, but when it comes right down to that point he has a deep rooted fear of death by my hand.  I know how to use every tool in this house and have no problem fashioning some of my own, if need be.  LOL.

Nonetheless, today I'll do laundry and work.  Tonight we'll be kid-less and out on the town.  Then back home for drinks, movies, and dare I say it... NOOKIE!  Oh yeah, baby!  ;-)

So that's my Friday plans, what about yours?  What will you be up to today/night?  Whatever it is, I hope you have a great day and enjoy every bit of it.

Hot Vampires! Who's your favorite?

Happy Friday morning ladies and gents!  It's finally the weekend.  Woohoo!  My mom will be taking the kids tonight and we'll be enjoying a peaceful evening.  Then tomorrow we get to sleep late.  I like sleeping late.  I hate the sound of my alarm clock Monday through Friday.  That sucker scares me half to death every single morning.

I don't have much more than writing planned for today.  I got an e-mail from DS wanting me to write more articles, but I don't "do" articles during NaNoWriMo.  I like to focus solely on my story without having my attention spread out over web content as well.  I love my fiction!  Articles are just there to make some extra cash when I'm not having to process a fiction story.

When I work on my novels I like to think about them all day.  Even when I'm not writing, the story is going through my mind; I'm working through scenes, conversations, locations, etc.  I might be watching television, folding laundry, giving the youngest a bath, but I'm rolling the story over and over in my head.  If I start writing an article about gardening, well, that just throws my story thoughts right out the window for a while.  It ruins my work flow.

This is why I only write articles when I'm editing or doing rewrites.  If I'm working on a story from scratch I just can't do articles.  I've learned this about myself over the years and figure I should just stick with what works best for me.  :-)

Now, back to the title of this blog.  Hmmm, hot vampires!  I love hot vampires.  Hot vampires are what makes the movies and books worth watching and reading.  Hot vampires are the ones that make you wanna swoon and offer up your own neck for their use.  Mmmm, the world would be awfully boring without hot vampires.  Hell, my books would be pointless without hot vampires!!  LOL!

Yesterday a friend shared 20 Hottest Vampires of All Time.  Stop by and check out.  Do you agree with the findings?  Do you have suggestions for others?  I like the list, but would totally reorder it to my own liking.

Before I go, I wanted to share that I got some fabulously potential good news yesterday.  It's pretty big for me, but it's a done deal.  It may not even pan out at all.  But if it does I'll be shouting it from the rooftops & you guys will be some of the firsts to know.  However, at this time I'm asking for everyone to cross their fingers and toes, and to think happy thoughts for me.  I believe in karma; if you send goodness out into the universe it'll come back to you tenfold.  Most of you know that about me.  Fingers crossed!

Have a great day!

A rainy Friday for me today.

Good afternoon!  It's Friday, woohoo!  Time for the weekend to begin.  What do you have planned for the weekend?  Anything fun and/or exciting?

Since next weekend is Halloween, and the kids will be having a party on Friday and our trick-or-treating on Saturday, and it's suppose to be the weekend my mom takes the kids, they all decided they'd rather do it today.  So, for 2 weeks in a row, the kids are going to Mom's for the night.  Tim & I will get an alone night tonight, and we won't even ahve to drive 12 hrs for it.  LOL!

Today started out as a cloudy & windy morning.  Leaves were flying off the trees and the temperature was just enough that we opened three windows in the house.  Then around 10am the rain finally started coming down.  Now it's wet, windy, and dreary.  However, I am extremely grateful for all the sunshine we had this week.  I hope it comes back for next week.

I don't have anything planned for this evening like we usually do on kid-free nights.  We've planned our in-door dinner (no grilling in the rain) and will probably watch a Netflix movie, but other than that I've got nothing planned.  Should be nice & quiet, so we'll just see where it leads.  ;-)

On another note, the pup we were thinking about adopting won't be happening.  It was a chihuaha pup, about 6 weeks old, from an unwanted, un-papered litter.  Unfortunately, the owners were just letting the pups run around outside and the one we wanted simply disappeared.  I'm hoping that the little one was at least taken in by a loving family who will enjoy and pamper it.

Tim and the 4 year old are completely disappointed.  They'd finally gotten me to agree to bring the pup home, got their hopes up, contemplated names, and then I had to break it to them that the pup was no more.  :-(  I actually think Tim is taking it harder than the 4 year old too.  He keeps telling me to go buy one from a seller (this one was a freebie), but I'm not buying one when our money is better spent elsewhere.  He'll get over it, eventually.

On a completely unrelated subject:

Congratulations to my friend Jami!!!  She's now expecting baby #5 in June 2010.  I hope all goes well and she has a happy & healthy pregnancy and baby.  Now we wait to see if it's a boy or girl and which side will be outnumbered--she currently has 2 girls & 2 boys.

That's it from me for now.  Off to finish up my laundry and listen to the rain.  Have a good Friday and a fabulous weekend.

Friday Run Around

Good Friday morning!  I'm so glad it's Friday.  I've been looking forward to the weekend.  Next Monday the kids are even out of school, so we get to sleep late for 3 days this weekend.  Yay!

Today Tim and I have to do our Friday run around.  We have errands (read: groceries, groceries, groceries) to run.  I've finally convinced Tim that my weekly errand day works out so much better than him wanting to go to town 4x a week.  My way has been working (and saving gas) for all these years.  I must be doing something right.  LOL!

Today I have only 2 more chapters to edit.  Woohoo!!  Then this evening I'll start finishing off the ending and then VOILA!  I'll print it all out again so I can just sit back and read it.  Yay me!!  I love it!  I think Tim's even happy for me to get this one finished, and not complaining about having time to finish it.  LOL.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll have some good reviews from my test readers to share with you.  Then it'll be time for NaNoWriMo... and the next book.  I'm calling this series the Liz Baker saga.  We'll see how that goes.  LOL.

Okay, I'm off for the day.  I hope you enjoy your Friday and have a fantastic weekend.

Friday... all day long!

Morning all.  It's finally Friday.  These days Friday means I get two days of sleeping late--6 a.m. sure does come early since school started.  LOL.
So yesterday ended up being busier than I expected.  We decided to go out and get groceries yesterday morning instead of doing it today.  All in all I ended up getting groceries, paying several bills, doing 4 loads of laundry and putting them away, and editing two chapters in Time For Death.  Then of course you add the cooking of dinner, baths, and bedtime routines, and boy it was a busy day.

During edits I found some snippets that I'd like to share with my readers as a sneak peek of Time For Death.  However, there are soooo many snippets that I now have to decide which ONE to share.  LOL.  Who wants sex, and who wants normal storyline?  I have both.  LOL!  Let me know and I'll post a sneak peek on Monday.  :-)

Today I'll be spending it here at home, working, writing, planning for the weekend.  The kids are scheduled to go to Mom's tonight and Tim is planning to grill ribs for us.  We'll drink, grill, and watch movies in peace and quiet.  That's always nice.  :-)

How is everyone enjoying the new pictures with most of the entires?  I thought it'd be something nice to add to the blog, and I get to show off my own photographs.  I'm big on taking pictures when we go places.  Pictures of the kids, Tim, the location, and anything that sparks my interest.  I have hundreds upon hundreds of pictures from over the years.

Okay then, looks like it's time for me to get going this morning.  Let me know what kind of story snippet you'd like to see and I'll choose one to share on Monday.  Have a great day!

Ooohh, I can't wait.

Only 4 more days until school starts. Four more days. This extra month of summer vacation definitely came in handy when planning day trips and such, but I'm DONE with the kids being home all day long. Actually, they're tired of it too. They're as excited about the first day of school as I am. Woohoo!

Today is half over already. We slept late and then went out to do some Friday errands. I bought some grocries so that there was actually food in the house. LOL. If there's not cheese and ham in the fridge then there's absolutely NOTHING to eat... or though Tim thinks. LOL. So now he has food in the house. Hahaha!

Tonight is Mom's Friday to have the girls. Tim and I will be staying home and grilling out for dinner. We're doing grilled salmon, corn on the cob, yellow rice and steamed green beans. This is one of our favorite meals. It's so flavorful, yet light and easy. Yum!

I have two articles that I need to finish and submit today, while I want for payment from other ones. I love payday! :-) Luckily the two I need to write are already started and outlined. I know what I'm writing, I just need to write it. Another reason I can't wait 'til school starts.... more time to work!

Oh, it just hit me! I haven't shared the pics from our weekend trip, have I? Sorry all. Here you go. Just pop over to my Shutterfly account and watch the slideshow. There aren't a lot of pics since I didn't take the camera to Dixie Stampede, but there are a few of WonderWorks. :-)

Okay, I'm off to finish up my work so that I can enjoy the evening with my loving man and no worry about these articles. I don't think the laptop will go well with what I plan on wearing tonight. LOL!

It's all over now.

Whew! Today is finally coming to an end. And boy, has it been a long one.

So Tim's appointment was suppose to be at 10am this morning, but the office called yesterday and wanted him there at 9:30am instead. So we headed out a little earlier and got there at 9:20.

Tim took his valium and they let it kick in nicely. Well, the next thing we knew it was 10:20 and I was asking WTF? I told the office girl that we have a schedule and kids, so when would we be getting to the procedure. Apparently the patient before Tim had gone overschedule unexpectantly and it was putting the doctor behind. However, it wasn't but another 8 mins, or so, before Tim was called back.

Thirty minutes later, Tim came wobbling out and said, "It's done!" LOL.

He was feeling fairly well on the drive home. We picked up the youngest and then grabbed some lunch to take home with us. By the time we made it home Tim was asking for his pain meds. Poor guy. He's doing well, and I do believe his pain is pretty minimal for the most part, but tomorrow he'll most likely be very sore.

When we first got home he just had to show me the incisions. LOL. They are very tiny and looked good and clean. I'm sure they will heal quickly and he'll be feeling tons better by the time Monday rolls around.

Anyway, that's it for today. I'm off to give him another dose of pain meds and see what he wants to eat for dinner. My mom came and got the girls for the night, so it's quiet at the moment. Unfortunately, there won't be any "playing" for us tonight. LOL! Poor guy.

Okay, I was a day off.

TODAY is actually 2 weeks until Tim's vasectomy. The first appointment date was for next Thursday, but his now appointment date is May 1st, which is the Friday after next. Soooo, today marks two weeks. LOL! Duh, me!

Anyway, good morning to my wonderful, fabulous, loving friends out there. I hope that you've had a great week. Mine has been pretty well, I must say. I got a decent amount of work done... both writing and household. That always makes for a nice weekend because I'm not rushing to get work done when I could be spending it with Tim and the girls.

Tonight the girls are going to be spending the night with my mom. Tim and I will be home alone. His 33rd birthday is in two days so we're going to be grilling out, watching some movies (yay Netflix!), and enjoying the quiet in celebration. Then tomorrow I'll bake him his favorite birthday cake (white cake with chocolate frosting). I would wait for Sunday to do it (his actual birthday), but he said he wants it tomorrow so he can eat it during the Nascar race. LOL! He says it'll make a good snack. LOL!

Nonetheless, today is another gorgeous day here. The sun is shining and the sky is blue. I love days like this. It's a little cool this morning, but is warming up pretty quickly. It will be so nice outside this afternoon.

Early this morning I took the girls to school, bought groceries, paid the Verizon bill (still loving Verizon!), and did a few other errands. We were out so early that we made it back home by 9:30am. We've just been hanging out since then. I need to do some laundry, but will wait until the girls get home from school in case they require a change of outfits before they go to Mom's. Anyone with daughters knows what I'm talking about. They go through more outfits a week than anyone I know.

Okay I better go now. The youngest is begging for an early lunch since she didn't want to at breakfast this morning. Tim is in the kitchen getting our dinner steaks into merinade and seasonings. He loves doing that and I don't mind because it keeps me from having to cook. LOL!

Have a great Friday and weekend to come. :-)

Friday Morning

Good morning all. It's finally Friday. Yay for the weekend!

Today is my errand day. However, I didn't have a lot to do and we were finished and back home by 8:30am this morning. Of course we also didn't go to the next town over for a bank visit and a trip to Wal-mart. LOL! We just stayed ver here and hit the local Bi-Lo and CVS, then back home. Now I have the rest of the day to laze around with Tim and wish for sunshine.

It's another rainy, gloomy day here. I'd like some sunshine, but this does make for a good lazy day. Gloomy days are only good for curling up in bed with the one you love. Or possibly for getting some writing done. LOL! Nonetheless, right now I'm chilly and am preferring the bed option.

It looks like this weekend will be filled with days inside as well. Even if the rain stops it'll just be too wet to do anything out there. Things are flooding and the ground is so sloppy. Yuck!

Our oldest daughter is having a sleepover here tomorrow night. That's always fun (NOT). I already have a house full of screaming girls and then she goes and adds more. LOL! Blah! I'll let them make some homemade pizzas and then send them off to do preteen girlie stuff in her bedroom. She has movie watching and nail painting planned.... nothing that'll require my attention. Yay!

I'm planning to finish the Character Dictionary on my website for the Alex & Fiona series this weekend. And my monthly newsletter goes out next Wednesday, so I have to make sure it's ready. I have several articles that are requiring my attention, and Liz is bugging me about doing to edits for Time For Death. Come on Liz, give a girl a break! Sheesh, she's such a bossy bitch! LOL.

Okay, I'm cold, so I'm headed to the bedroom. I hope you're all having a much drier day than I am!

Happy weekend everyone!

Good evening all. Have you had a good weekend thus far? Do anything special, or just hang out at home? We've had a pretty peaceful Saturday, after a busy and fun Friday. :-)

I just realize that I never got around to sharing the pics from my weekend away with Tim two weekends ago. I just finished uploading and resizing them, so I'll go ahead and post them now while it's fresh in my mind.

We stayed at the Edelweiss German Inn in Helen, Georgia. It was gorgeous, though I imagine it's even better in Spring when everything is green and blooming. We'll definitely have to go back one day.

This is the upstairs sitting room that was right outside our room. The wall of windows led out onto a wooden deck overlooking the patio sitting area.

More of the sitting area. There were all kinds of games, books, and things to keep you occupied (if you need that kind of entertainment on a weekend away, lol). There was even a computer and internet connection... though I never touched it. Shocking, I know. ;-)

Our room!

We had a gorgeous room that was full of reds and dark wood tones. The king sized bed was massive. It was so high that I had to literally jump up into the bed. Tim was laughing at me. Overlook my purse and our bag that were discarded on the bed as soon as we walked into the room.

The Jacuzzi tub was nice. Too bad they were having hot water problems that night and we didn't get to play in the tub for too long.

View from the other side of the room. The bed was a four poster bed with wrought iron canopy across the top, connecting all four posts. It was so high that there was no more than 1 inch between the canopy and the ceiling.

There were a lot more pics, but they weren't family-friendly. LOL! We had good time up there. It was a nice way to get awy for the weekend without being too far from home. The staff was friendly, the inn was beautiful, the food at the resturant downstairs was delectable.

Okay, now that I've shared those I'll recap yesterday and today for anyone bored enough to read about it. LOL!

Today was a normal Saturday. Tim & I woke up in a quiet house. We took some cans to the recycling center and made a few dollars for Tim to stash in his wallet for work next week. We picked up the girls from my mom's (they spent the night with her last night). Then we picked up a new running line for our mutt dog since she broke her line this morning. The it was right back home for us. Nothing exciting... though the girls were outside for a while (*wink, wink*) and Tim grilled out for us at dinnertime. :-)

Now yesterday was fun. We did the normal Friday stuff--grocery shopping, trip to bank, etc.-- and we took the girls out for breakfast (it was actually more like brunch since we got to sleep in). After all that, we came home for a few hours until my mom came to get the girls.

As soon as the girls were out the door Tim & I dashed off to my sister's house. THEN, we went to a new "grown-ups" shop. We've been to a few different ones over the years, but we'd never been to this particular one. It's always interesting to see how classy (or not) adult stores can be when trying to display the same "merchandise". LOL! This one was pretty classy, thank goodness! *giggle*

We came home with $70 in new goodies and lingerie to enjoy. Not bad since we spent like $85 two weeks ago at a different shop. LOL!!

After that we picked up a quick dinner and headed home to an empty, QUIET house. It's always nice to enjoy the sound of silence together.

That's it for our weekend. Tomorrow we'll visit the in-laws for a few hours and then head back home so Tim can change the oil in my van and watch the Nascar race. Oh, I cut my hair Thursday night too. Funny how I can do in 10 minutes, for free, what the hair salon does in 45mins and $40.

Until next time, I hope you've had a good one!!
