Since the newsletter has already gone out, who would like to see a sneak peek of what will be in * ๐™๐™๐™š ๐˜พ๐™–๐™™๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š ๐™ค๐™› ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ * (Coming soon to Kickstarter)?

Here's just one mockup of what you'll find at the beginning of each book in this gorgeous omnibus. There will be over a dozen full color pages filled with character images and scenes, along with custom chapter headers and scene breaks, custom end pages, foiling on the matte case (and potentially on the dust jacket), as well as a built-in silver ribbon bookmark. And that doesn't even include all the bookmarks, art prints, stickers, hand-poured candles (by lil ole me), and so much more!

I'm already in love with this book and I haven't even gotten to hold it in my hands yet! <3

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing sneak peeks and even character inspiration images. Be sure to click the link to follow the campaign and be notified of the launch when it happens.

Bound to a Devil is now available on KU!

Happy March, everyone! I hope the week is going well for all of you. Mine has been busy, but in a good way. Since it's the first Wednesday of the month, you should have already received my monthly newsletter (if you're subscribed). However, if you missed it, the big news of the day is the movement from wide to KindleUnlimited for Bound to a Devil (Devil Family, book 1).

I've considered this move for a while, and finally decided to jump on the KU train and try it out. This meant removing the ebook format of this story from all bookstores except Amazon, so it's a risky endeavor that I hope will show promising results.

This is a must for 90 days, so after that timeframe I'll reevaluate and decide if the book stays on KU or moves back to wide distribution. In the meantime, if you're subscribed to KindleUnlimited, consider grabbing your copy of Bound to a Devil. The second book is tentatively schedule for release on August 22nd, so that gives you plenty of time to catch up on book 1. :)

Release Day: Battling Sorrow (Penny, Bk 2)

Today's the big day! Battling Sorrow, the second book in the Penny Montague series, finally released today. It's been six years since Devastating Sorrow (book 1) came out, so this has been a long time coming.

In this newest installment we open with Penny on the search for witches in need of protection and education. Over the last couple of years she's been hard at working trying to slowly introduce witches into the immortal community without the centuries of prejudices they've hid from for so long. And then the Elders' Court sends her to bring in a young girl whose powers have been accidentally put on display for the world to see.

Can Penny bring the child in and keep her safe from the Faction that only wants to destroy all witches in existence?

New Release in 6 days!

Welcome to December! Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? It was 2019, and then I blinked. Boom! Two years later. At least that's what it feels like.

In only 6 days, the newest installment in my Liz Baker series will release. I can't believe this is book 9! This series has been running for 11 years now, and quickly became my favorite. Liz is always getting into trouble with all those vampires, werewolves, demons, and everything else that shows up on her doorstep.

Ruled by Death will be available for download on December 7th. Currently, the preorders are up for only $0.99, but that will increase after release.

I'm in the midst of writing the 10th, and final, book in the series. It will come out in the spring of 2022.

In the meantime, we survived Thanksgiving, and I'm now looking forward to Christmas. The tree is up and the grandson is amazed by all the lights and breakables. LOL! Right now he's hearing the word no a lot.

If you're subscribed to my newsletter, it went out today. I even shared Chapter 1 in there. Don't forget to check it out for your chance to win the author proofs of the Liz Baker series (books 1-8) that are collecting dust in my office. If you aren't subscribed, it's not too late. You can join here, and then pop over to my website for one entry into the contest.

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Happy Holidays!

Release Day for Book 8

Hey, everyone! I hope this finds you safe and healthy. 2021 has started off wild and we're only 1 month in at this point. It's a mystery what the rest of the year will bring. In the meantime, I know one thing it'll bring... Release Day for Death Comes to Us All!

This long-awaited book has taken me a while to complete, but I'm glad it's finally to that point. Release Day will be a celebration of completion for me. At this point I even know what book 9 will be about. Yay!

The big day will be March 29th, with the Pre-Order phase and Release Day (Week) deal of only $0.99 for that week. After those few days the price will increase to $2.99, so I hope you'll take advantage and get it for the lower price. I'll be posting notices and reminders as we get closer.

In the meantime, here's the blurb for the book. In a few weeks I'll post a snippet of the first chapter.

Amazon Pre-Order: Click Here

I hate this! How do I always get myself into these situations? Monsters coming after me left and right, but this time I've made promises I can't back out of. I'll do anything to protect my family, even if it breaks my heart and crushes my soul to keep them safe.

Heartbroken by the loss of her family, Liz Baker must settle into the agreement she made with The Master. As she wallows in sadness, self-doubt, and defeat, Liz needs to figure out how to exist without those she loves, while training to become her captor's One True Mistress in his scheme to destroy the world.

Suffering through a millennia of death, destruction, and the evolution of the human race, The Master has grown fierce about the rules set by his ancestors. He and his men are determined to end the insanity that is “modern day” and create the foretold heaven on Earth, but to do that he must find the One True Mistress. This woman will help bring an end to everything and rebuild the world in his image. After numerous failed women in his past, he knows that woman is Liz Baker. After all, she is the daughter of the only vampire with the ability to create offspring. She has to be special... right?

The end is coming.

But will it be the end of all we know, or the end of the monster who wants to destroy the world?

Finders Keepers

An Almost Gothic Love Affair

Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place.

A bride is sent off into the unknown to marry a stranger on All Hallows Eve, October 31, 1749. What she finds on her arrival is enough to make her skin crawl.
Limping footsteps, blood-curdling screams, smoking torches, and a house on a cliff... A man she only sees in the dark, his breathing labored behind a mask.
“A betrothal is as good as the wedding vows. You cannot leave.”
“Am I your prisoner?”
"You shall stay here until you bear me a child. Then you
can stay or go, the choice shall be mine!"

The how and why behind Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers was my contribution to the Soul's Day Boxset, which released on October 20th, 2020. The Boxset achieved No 1 bestseller status on Amazon. After running its course, it has now been disbanded, and the rights reverted to the authors. I thought 22 December 2020 a good date for a relaunch, after another round of edits, and sporting a new cover. The old one is on the left.

Then the Boxset came up. I sat down with all my notes for Darkest Midnight. It didn't take much to change the theme from Christmas to Halloween, and so Finders Keepers came about.

About me

I am an international bestselling author of spooky paranormal romance. The ghost stories had not been planned - I wanted to write an ordinary romance - you know the kind - boy meets girl, they fall in love, then boy loses girl and wants her back, bla bla bla. But that was not to be. Before I knew it, there was a persistent ghost on the page. But if he wanted to be part of my story, he was going to have to work for it, so I gave him a job.

The trick is to combine things that can't be explained, sweaty bodies and
rumpled beds in a way that will make the reader's toes curl and hair stand on end.

The Other Me

I love cooking - being married to a chef, the passion for food must have rubbed off. The result is that I am nearly as passionate about creating new dishes as I am about creating alpha heroes for every woman to fall in love with, just like I do, every time.

My Cats

And I love cats. At one time, I had eleven! Now my husband, Gareth, and I have only two as we're living in an apartment. The black and white cat, Thom, was a Tuxedo cat, but he was killed by a car. His sister, pure black - unfortunately I don't have a picture of her handy - is called Nightshade. Get it? The tabby is my baby, 14 years old, called Felix.

How I became a Bestseller

I have several books published, but my WIP pile is growing instead of getting smaller. Sometimes I worry that I won't have enough time to publish them all.

All my books feature ghosts, and they have varying levels of heat. There is the Bridesmaids, Weddings and Honeymoons series, 3 out of 5 published so far. Then there is the Moragh Saga trilogy. The first 2 books are out, and the last and final one coming mid-2021. Roxanne's Ghost duology is a complex ghost story of identical twin sisters' love for the same man. Have a look here:

Updates & What I'm Working On

Happy Fourth of July, lovely readers! I hope everyone is having an enjoyable day with family and friends. I ended up with four days off the day job for this weekend, and intend to make the most of them around the property. The hubs had to work today, but he'll be off the next three days, so that'll be nice. We have a lot to do over these few days, and some of it (for me) is business related.

As most of you know, the newest book in the Liz Baker series came out at the end of May. So far, the feedback has been great. I'm so glad people are enjoying Liz's story! It makes me happy when someone tells me how much they liked the stories I write. It validates all the time I put into these projects: all the stress, frustration, late nights, long days, multiple sets of eyes, and even the time my wonderful cover designer puts into it. I love my books and I'm thrilled others love them, too. :)

The last two months, I've been working on something new. I'm still working on the 8th book in Liz's series (scheduled for release in 2020), but I have also created a new business venture. I am now a certified life coach and have started accepting clients out of the herbal supplement shop (my day job). So if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, you may, from time to time, see shared posts from Tailgate Life Coaching. That's me, so don't be concerned. Feel free to follow that page, if it's something you're interested in. I'm still building it up and creating content to share, but it's getting there.

Best wishes & happy holiday weekend, everyone!

What's up with me?

Life has been crazy this summer. Lots of working at the public job and not so much working at the writing job. I miss it tremendously, but what's a girl to do when she's gotta make the money? I'm still writing sporadically, but not as regularly as I'd like to be. By the time I get home from work and school pickup it's time to make dinner, get showers done, and settle down for the evening. My main writing day is every Friday (since I'm off work), but that day seems to be full of all the errands, chores, and phones calls I couldn't get done during the week. Ugh! It's extremely frustrating when I just want to sit down and write.

Speaking of school... my kids started back to school on September 5th. This year I have a middle schooler and a senior in high school, not to mention the oldest who is still in college. This time next year I'll have two in college. Eek!! I don't even know how that happened so quickly!

Over the last 6 months I've:

  • Had a breast cancer scare, plus biopsy,
  • Started the new job,
  • Learned a LOT about that new job,
  • Put my 17yr old through oral surgery to expose a tooth that wouldn't come out of the gum and put a braces bracket on it,
  • Joined a gym & go 3-5 days a week
  • Endured the 1yr anniversary of my mom's passing
  • Had to slow down on the writing in order to accommodate all of the above.
On the upside, I was able to pay off my husband's car several months early & my middle daughter's braces will be paid off in just 2 more payments. Woohoo!!  Unfortunately, on the braces front, I have one more daughter to put through them as soon as these are paid off.  LOL! Ugh.

Sooooooo, that's what I've been up to lately. It's a lot of craziness, but it is what it is.

Lots of love to all of you wonderful readers. I am still working on Liz Baker's next book, but it's going slower than I had hoped. Please hang in there and I promise I'll keep you guys informed as the process moves forward.

Liz Baker Series Book 7 Under Way

So, as many of you know, I'm currently working on the seventh book in my Liz Baker series. I just started this one so I'm still fleshing out the ideas and plot points, but I finally wrote that first sentence (and page), and I know where the first chapter is going. Woohoo!

I'm not much of a planner when it comes to my stories. I start with a general idea of what I want to say and where I want the characters to end up at, and then I fill in the blanks one page at a time. Sometimes the characters do what I plan for them to do, and then other times they scoff at my ideas and go wherever the hell they want to go whether I want them to or not. I tried planning out an entire book once, chapter by chapter, scene by scene, with the ending ready and waiting for me to get the words on paper. And then my characters had other plans...

Nothing I planned happened! The characters laughed at me, pointed and called me names as they moved about the story line at their own pace and did whatever they wanted to do. That's when I knew I wasn't a planner when it comes to my books. The characters won't allow it.

As for Liz Baker, I've had the opening to book 7 in my head since the end of book 6. I knew how I wanted it to begin, and all I had to do was get back to this series and start writing. It's the rest of the story I don't know yet. LOL!  Thankfully though, Liz is a strong-willed character and she will eventually show me the way of her world once more.

It's been a while since book 6 came out at the end of 2014. Eek! I didn't even realize it has been that long until I just typed that. Wow! I've had a crazy few years. Nonetheless, I've already released a new book and a short story this year, and Liz's new story is next up. I'm hoping (fingers crossed & powerful magic dust everywhere) this story will release in late August/early September. If it all works out, that will leave me just enough time to get to the second book in my Penny Montague series before 2017 is over.

Wish me luck & keep reading!

Sorrow Meets Death is live!

The day has finally arrived! Sorrow Meets Death is live and ready for all of you to read. It's a short story that links Liz Baker and Penny Montague together for future series stories. This short is available for download for FREE on my website here.

This story is meant to be read after Devastating Sorrow, so make sure you're all caught up with the first book in the Penny Montague series before starting this one.

I hope you enjoy this little snippet into the lives of these two women. Next up will be the 7th installment of the Liz Baker series. Be on the lookout for it later in the year.

SORROW MEETS DEATH

Liz is a small town bar owner who doesn't know much about the supernatural creatures outside the ones who keep coming to her own town.
Penny is an immortal witch who sensed something interesting the last time she was in this small Georgia town.
What happens when these two meet each other for the first time? Trouble, of course.

Working toward June & Sorrow Meets Death

Last week I posted my 2017 publishing schedule. This week I'm working toward that first goal of getting the short story with Liz and Penny created. The story is titled Sorrow Meets Death and it begins with Penny entering Liz's bar, Athena's Ambrosia. The two sense one another and realize something interesting is going on here. Then, of course, that's when trouble begins.

This is going to be a short story that will fit between Penny's 1st and 2nd books, as well as Liz's 6th and 7th books. Just like the other Liz short story, this one will be a freebie available for download on my website. If you're a Liz Baker fan and haven't read Death Reflected, book 3.5, pop on over to the website and download it.

I'm really looking forward to this story. I've been wanting to tie the two characters together ever since Penny came to me. I knew there had to be a way to bring them together, even just for a short story, and in Devastating Sorrow I hinted at just that meeting.

I hope you'll enjoy this upcoming read, and be sure to pop by regularly for updates about its progress.

Characters: Meet Penny Montague

In my newest book, you'll meet Penny (Penelope) Ann Montague. She is a 150 year old immortal who is truly sick and tired of her immortality. After the death of her son, she spends her nights as a phone sex operator in an attempt to connect with the human race, and her off time experimenting with the immortality she's so very tired of living. Her life is long and lonely, and missing her son every waking hour doesn't help.

In her past she was a member of the North American Immortal Corp, but after decades watching and listening, and even following the orders of a most corrupt and hypocritical government, she finally ended her time with the corp and moved on to civilian life.

Penny raised her adopted son from the age of two to the ripe old age of ninety-six. He had been her whole world from the moment she set eyes on his beautiful, little face. Now that he was gone, what did she have to live for?

Heartbroken and discouraged with her experiments in death, Penny doesn't know what to do next. That is, until her degenerate brother shows up in trouble... again!

Find out more about Penny and her life when the first book in this series, Devastating Sorrow, releases on March 7, 2017.
